In July the Brewers suffered an 8 game losing streak, endured a very strong push from the Cubs, and they're still tied for first exiting the month.

Not to mention a winning record in the month of July with their big losing streak!

Chacin has to be the best value/production signing for starting pitchers for last offseason right? With the exception of Arrieta who is a lot more expensive the FA pitching from this past offseason has bombed this year.

Dollar for dollar it's not close.

Who would have thought that both of DS FA pitcher additions would blow the other Big time FA arms out of the water

DS, apparently.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Re: the Chacin dialogue above.

It’s really fun to envision a scenario where the Brewers F.O. were discussing and projecting something in the neighborhood of the results we’ve seen on Yhoulis vs. the rest. Helps me to believe in the team, what it can do, and the vision of the personnel of D.S. and the rest who have constructed it thusly. This season is going to be remembered well in the Brewers history timeline.

Championship seasons always are fondly remembered.

With the end of the West Coast trip the only remaining road series outside our division are 3 games at Atlanta and 3 games at Washington.

It wasn't fun to lose like we did last night but we still had a successful road trip out west. Let's take care of business at Miller Park this weekend. :)

Back home, a game out of first, and competing for the best record in the NL! The last couple games were disappointing but it's all laid out pretty nice yet. I predict Schoop gets hot at (his new) home! Time to string together a win streak!

We have played 7 more games than the Braves to date. They are wildcard #2 currently.

The Cubs only have 5 more off days this year and have to play a streak of 23 in a row without and off day.

Team is 8-20 vs Cubs, Pirates, & Dodgers. 55-29(.654) vs everyone else. Only 16 games left with Pirates and Cubs. 34 vs the others. If they can keep up the .654 pace, it would yield about 22 wins. That would get them to 85. Try to go at least 7-9 in those Pit/Chi games and you would get to 92.

Make that 9-23 v Cubs, Pirates, Dodgers & Indians

54-26 (.675) vs everyone else

If the Brewers don't win the division I should be banned. However, they will.

Schoop will not slash .095/.095/.095 the rest of the season. He will get hits, home runs, and RBIs!

Yep ... I liked that the offense showed signs of breaking out of their funk over the weekend. He'll get comfortable and start stinging the ball, I predict sooner rather than later. Get a few more guys other than Yelich and Cain hot, and watch out!

If the Brewers can go 24-19 over their final 43 games, that puts them at 90 wins, which I think should be enough to clinch a wild card spot.

And if 6 of those wins are against the Cubs, that probably wins the division!
