Nice to see the Brewers getting some breaks from other teams displaying awful defense lately.

We better be prepared because just in the last week alone, we might be using our season's quota. Things usually even themselves out.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

To be fair, we have lost our closer, starting 1B, C, two of the 3 best OFs, and SS for a few games or DL stints after the first 25 or so games....and we lost a few games late due to comically bad luck with IF hits and bad defense of our own.

Chachin on pace for 15 tonight. [sarcasm]hopefully he can eat all of them up.

After he finishes the royals we will just start tomorrow's game vs the Cubs with the royal as stand ins.[/sarcasm]

In the live ball era (since 1920) the lowest pitch count in a 9 inning CG is 74, with the Brewers victim of one of them

Carlos Silva, 74 pitches, MIN 7 MIL 1 May 20 2005

Aaron Cook, 74 pitches, COL 10 SD 2 July 25 2007

In Silva's game, no Brewer even got to a 3 ball count. He had a 3 pitch inning in the 6th, single, GIDP, F9

Two sort of recent games, but I have no recollection of Silva or Cook.

Brauny 2 for 3 tonight. Over the last seven games:

6 runs, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 7 RBI, 2 walks, a .435 AVG (10 for 23), and a slash line of .480/.783/1.263.

I'd say he's feeling it right now.

There are three things America will be known for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization: the Constitution, jazz music and baseball. They're the three most beautifully designed things this culture has ever produced. Gerald Early

WHY??? Starter at 64 pitches and only a runner on 1st with 2 outs??? Two hits this inning, but both ground balls. CC puts way to many unnecessary outs on our bullpen.
