I'm willing to improve the MLB Network draft coverage for free! They don't even have to pay me to host it.

MLB Network's coverage is a little cringe-worthy so far.

Why they have Harold Reynolds at the desk I have no idea. Eric Byrnes with the super bro best hitter I've ever seen since I've started following the draft is totally unnecessary too.

Just tuned in. Doesn't appear to be any major droppers so far. The guy that was # 8 on And That's compilation, Corbin Carroll, made it down to #16 but I wouldn't consider that to be a major drop in this draft. Only guy that has gone way higher than anticipated is Keoni Cavaco, a 35 to 40'ish player that went at #13. Twins have been known to take cheaper options earlier and then pay bigger dollars later like with Blayne Enlow in 2017. I don't know if that's the strategy with Cavaco at all, but since the Twins do have that history, then that pick really isn't that much of a surprise either. So far there doesn't seem to be any real surprises.

If MLB is not going to allow draft pick trading, what is their excuse for the first round of the draft being so ponderously slow?

Braves take Shewmake this early? Very questionable, he just doesn't have the offensive production. Both of their 1st round picks are low ceiling.

A couple big "reaches" here (at least according to most rankings). Good news for the Brewers!

Prep righty Matt Allen is still available. He has frontline stuff and looks to have slipped a bit. I wonder if there is some signability concerns. If not the case, he would be a great pick for the Brewers.

I'm glad. Seems like he was definitely going to the Cubs otherwise.

I wasn't thinking a HS pick going in, but it looks like we might have a shot aft Gunnar Henderson. That's exciting. He's kind of another Turang.

Cubs go off the grid....field is wide open for Brewers.
