This team has a mental block in these situations. Only thing you can conclude.

or not. I conclude good pitching always beats good hitting.

Good pitching every single time though?? Once in a while sure but you don't need a hit. Just a ball in play? I don't know.

Yea right, it's so easy, just hit it somewhere. Says everyone who has ever faced Hader.

They havent faced that many Haders.

I was pretty sure Alvarez was going to take that pitch deep. Would like that high FB to either miss the zone or just catch the top of it...

Results notwithstanding, Jeffress doesn't have it tonight. Really playing with fire.

He kept getting better.

Well this is where Perez' inability to hit RHP hurts. Pinch hit for Shaw would be a no brainer. Perez? Pina? Not Aguilar..........

Knowing the kind of hitter Counsell was in his day it has to be killing him to watch this team not be able to even make contact un those situations. He wasn't a great hitter but he would choke up and slap a ball somewhere. It's got to hurt to see these guys be helpless.

And they've had far more hits in those situations than the non-factual "seems like" metric shows us.

Doesn’t the metric say they are the worst in the majors though? I think the average is 51%

The brewers were like 38%

It’s getting tiring at this point

That has to be one of the cheapest homers I've ever seen. Wow. This park is garbage. Alas, as it was hit by a Brewer, we'll take it.

We're owed a few here from that crap Richie Sexson pole shot double.

Is the dent still on the flag pole?

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
