Figured I'd start a thread in case anyone wanted to discuss the dingers or try to figure out why Roberts is batting Baez second even though he has the lowest OBP in the lineup.

I saw that they are honoring CC Sabathia at tomorrow’s game. Pretty cool. I wish NYY was visiting Milwaukee this year so he could get a proper good bye from us.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Yeah that was pretty fun to watch

I hate the HR derby in its current form.

It was much better with Chris Berman announcing and guys getting outs for non-homeruns.

What I would rather see is skills competition such as:

--the fastest man in baseball around all the bases

--pitchers having to hit targets with certain types of pitches

--hitters having to hit balls to certain fields on command (landing on the outfield grass)

--rightfielders throwing to third base

--left/centerfielders throwing home

--etc.

Baseball needs to use more of its imagination for their showcase week ... keep the HR Derby--allowing only 5 outs each round to speed the thing up and eliminate the possibility of guys simply getting worn out and having to put with long rounds of unimpressive popups, grounders. liners -- shorter rounds might make more people willing to participate and would allow a wider/larger selection of sluggers in the competition, too.

MLB has to step up their game (impose a salary cap while you're at it, too!!!!!)

You lost me at Chris Berman.

I would like to see baseball's commissioner publicly apologize to Sabathia for forcing him to leave Milwaukee, due to the unfair revenue-generating advantages that some teams have.

:angry :rolleyes

Instead of having those kids in the outfield for the Home Run Derby, have them play catcher for Crash At The Plate Derby.
