I wonder if a picture could get a win and a save in the same game? The reason I ask is Lorenzen could be in a game when his team takes the lead and then could go to the Outfield while a reliever faced a couple of hitters and then came back in the game

Mind. Blown.

Why are we talking about their overall record? Does Sonny Gray pitch every night? They have an ace on the mound tonight and their offense, while overall not great this year, has some punch when they feel like it.

I guess they don’t feel like it more times than they do

2-1 pitch was hittable. Bummer.

I have no idea why so many hitters swing at that slider that basically hits the dirt. Not just Yas, you see it throughout baseball. It baffles me...it's not like the pitch starts as a belt high strike and drops off the table...it starts low and then basically hits the dirt, and guys repeatedly swing at it. Baffling.

Grandal right handed really bad.

.883 OPS right handed this year.

.752 for his career.

[sarcasm]regression to the mean, due for a good streak.[/sarcasm]

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Or a blown save along with a save

Braun and/or Hiura available to pinch hit at some point?
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Hiura out of this lineup really melts it down. Amazing how fast he has become a necessary part. In fact this game looks a lot like the games before he got called back up.

Well there's half that question answered...

Crap, that ended up being like wasting Hiura's AB...before he acme on deck, I was wondering if the Brewers got it to 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 0 or 1 out if he could/would PH.

I thought Braun was at Skaggs' funeral tonight.

Yeah I haven't really paid attention to the game. Doing other things....makes sense though.
