2019-07-22: Reds (Gray) at Brewers (Anderson) [Brewers lose, 6-5 -- Saladino’s 8th inning grand slam gives Crew the lead; Jeffress serves up 2-run HR in 9th to Suarez]

[Brew crew 92]

I cannot wait till we get a new SS. What a day it will be.

I second that!

[Eye Black]

It’s nice to see this offense get back to where no deficit is too much like it was early in the year

Early in the year (April and May) they actually did a nice job coming back from some deficits. It was June and early July that they mostly struggled in that department.

[PeaveyFury]

Jeffress has crazy good movement on the breaker tonight.

[homer]

The Reds owe Votto $107 million more dollars after this season (assuming they buy out the last year of his deal)

[sveumrules]

That is why you don't write a guy off after 50 PAs.

You were saying things like this last night too. No one was writing Saladino off because of 50 PAs. He has over 1,000 PAs at the MLB level.

I'm thrilled of course, about the last two nights, and it must feel awesome for him.

Right. Prior to this year he had a 70 OPS+ career. Steamer projects him for a 70 wRC+. I believe his true talent likely lies somewhere between there & the 85 OPS+ he posted with us last season.

I think I'd rather not mess around with Suarez here...in fact I'd put him on

[wildcat83]

Be real careful with Suarez.

[Eye Black]

Sigh.

[markedman5]

Not good JJ

[wildcat83]

WHY??????????

[owbc]

Welp...

[Brew crew 92]

I think I'd rather not mess around with Suarez here...in fact I'd put him on

Good call

[Brewcrewin07]

What did I just say?? That is ridiculous for CC not to put him on with the IBB. Why the hell wouldn't you?? My god, terrible decision.

[Brew crew 92]

Be real careful with Suarez.

Good call

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

Oh man ... that sucks.

Bummer that they have a closer that can't go on back-to-backs.

[yourout]

You could not have put a pitch in the worse spot

[Bulldogboy]

unbelievable. Counsell are you kidding??

[adambr2]

This is a terrible bullpen.

[kybrewerfan]

Jeffress has been a hot mess since right before the playoffs started last year.

[willie key]

After all that and that happens. The brewers are just not going to get over the hump. What a slog these last few months have been. That is just terrible Edited July 23, 2019 by willie key

Good call

Absolutely no reason to pitch to him.

[Brew crew 92]

One high leverage arm please.

[adambr2]

One batter too late, Craigers.

[jjfanec]

When I saw Jeffress coming in I just hoped for it to be tied in the bottom of the 9th

[trwi7]

I don't want to compare what I could do against professional athletes but if given 10 tries, I think I probably could've parked that pitch in the seats at least once. Might have been the hangiest curveball in the majors this year.
