Not every ball in play is going to be completely routine. I don't know when they started scoring every single not completely routine play as a hit.

While I'm not as high on Pina as PinaMadness, I'm fine with going with a Pina/Freitas/Nottingham type trio next year and using the Grandal money to upgrade elsewhere.

Nothing could be further from the truth...we've seen Manny "hit" as a full time Catcher, if you want to call it that. he can't carry Grandal's jock offensively. That's just silly to even think that.

I'd try to keep Grandal here - get an extension. There's no better options in the minor league system other than David Fry, who is at full-season A.
