"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

So disappointed for Jake Cousins, he was so close to going the entire season - albeit a shortened one after signing out of independent ball - without walking a batter. Gave up his first walk tonight - with three K's, bringing his K/BB ratio for the season to 37/1.

I wonder what the record is for most K's in a season before giving up a walk. Cousins got to 34.

Have no idea if it is the record (and I doubt it is), but if I'm reading the game log right, Jon Perrin got to 39 at Wisconsin in 2016. 47-1 K/BB rate for the Rattlers before getting promoted.

Carlos Rodriguez with his 3rd HR in two nights - after having none all season.

Well a little power would certainly be a welcome addition to that profile... and maybe some more walks while you’re at it, please Carlos ;)
