Oh wonderful, this guy. The guy that throws mostly fastballs at 92ish, get's destroyed by literally everyone else, but we for some reason can't hit him at all. Hopefully having a bunch of new faces helps.

I will certainly be interested to see what we do for a lineup against our first LH of the year. I would guess something like...

Cain - CF

Yelich - LF

Hiura - DH

Braun - 1B

Garcia - RF

Gyorko - 3B

Pina - C

Holt - 2B

Arcia - SS

Brault made 5 starts against the Brewers last season, and the Brewers won every one of those games. The only time they really slapped him around, though, was Sept 20, when they put up 6 runs on Brault in 5 1/3 innings. Otherwise he pitched pretty well against them.

Looks like Yelich, Hiura, Gyorko and Gamel can hit this guy.

Pirates don't have much history against Houser.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

Gyorko has good numbers against Brault (4 for 9 with a HR -- small sample alert!). Yelich has also hit him well.

I'll try this out for size:

1. CF Cain

2. LF Yelich

3. 2B Hiura

4. DH Braun

5. RF Garcia

6. 1B Smoak

7. 3B Gyorko

8. C Pina

9. SS Arcia

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but it looks like rain is in the forecast for Pittsburgh this evening.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Sophia going on about CC calling a team meeting to do everything they can to avoid spreading Covid......while they show him in the dugout with no mask. That was priceless.

Rain in Pittsburgh!?!? Has that ever happened before?

(Blue)

Yes. Also in St. Louis, Chicago and Cincinnati.

I swear I've spent more time waiting for baseball to be played in Pittsburgh than actually watching baseball being played in Pittsburgh...

Any updates? Radar looks like light spotty showers for most of the evening. Either start it up and play through or cancel it now.

Haudricourt seems to agree with you. And now that you mention it, so do I.

A piped-in round of applause as the grounds crew pulls the tarp off the infield at PNC Park.

Pirates and Brewers are expected to resume at 9:15 p.m. ET.
