Struggling hitters do sometimes break out of their funk. The Pirates have put that possibility on full display this weekend.

My group of 6 and 7 year olds throwing a whiffle ball last week were more accurate than Narvaez was on that throw.

The Brewers are just 2 runs away from the worst run differential in the NL.

Classic case again of terrible swing path on a pitch down and in and you're trying to hit it like it's a tee shot.

Flatten the swing out a bit and you got a chance.

I've never seen a team have so many games where their first hit isn't until the 5th inning or later. Forget scoring this team can't even get base hits and we aren't exactly facing elite pitching lately.

I've been optimistically patient for most of this year, but this series may be the breaking point for me. On the bright side, I've been broken about this same time of year each of the last 2 years only to be pleasantly surprised by the stretch run.

I see Hunter Pence was designated for assignment. He’s batting .096 but the Brewers should still take a flyer on him... he wouldn’t even bring down the batting average much.
