I know days like this make stats a little deceiving, but there's no chance we aren't going to have one of the worst statistical pens in baseball after today.

 

I will be much more concerned if that's the case at the end of August.

 

It's still a little concerning now. They have numerous guys that pretty clearly aren't better options than your last guy in the pen. If Devin gets legitimately back that will help a great deal. I haven't really seen Perdomo pitch and I am eternally skeptical of guys with zero MLB track record but it's been so far so good for him. I hope he can be a legitimate option.

They also have a 9 man pen right now and bringing up ERA when you have guys who haven't even pitched 9 innings yet is a joke

Cool, they haven't been good is my point, and other guys besides Lindblom is my point which was my response to you. You said it's just a statistically bad pen because guys like Lindblom are getting shelled in blowouts and when I pointed out that that isn't necessarily true, all you could do was just kind of rudely insult me by telling me it was a joke to even mention ERA. Nice.

In years past (and I'm sure fans from each team can say this) it seems like the Brewers would score 10 runs one day, and then about three runs over the next two or three games. Going to need Peralta to probably go at least 6 tomorrow to reset things a little bit.

Sounds like Avisail Garcia left the game due to back tightness, but CC said he got work done on it during the game and should be okay.

Perdomo may be optioned just out of necessity after 35 pitches. It's hard to fathom a guy with almost 2 years left on his contract getting DFAed with one game being the last straw, but I don't think it's impossible they dump Lindblom tomorrow.

You do understand though that if we're looking at the pen as a whole, a guy like Devin Williams who has given up 4 runs in 5.2 innings and Yardley who has given up 5 runs in 7 innings maybe get outweighed a little by Lindblom who has now allowed 13 runs in 10.2 innings?

Absolutely. I don't look at Devin nearly the way I look at the bottom of the pen. I think Devin is still going to be a fantastic late inning option. I'm less high on a guy like Yardley.
