Yeah. I don't know if I like this one. Rasmussen's arm is top notch, and while Feyereisen seems like a dime-a-dozen reliever, he's been really good this year.

Adames hit 20 HRs in 2019 for the Rays. He's a very good defender at SS. Former top prospect and is only 25.

 

He does seem redundant with Urias also on the roster, though.

Man... Rasmussen was someone I had pegged as a right-handed Hader. But Adames was someone I'd have traded for, too. He's flashed power, and prior to this season, he's posted good OPS totals, including in 2020.

 

Losing Rasmussen stinks, but Adames is a good pickup, and could allow Urias to get his head on straight at AAA.

Trade is really Rasmussen for Adames. Is this a win for us. I am not knowledgeable about Adames enough to know. I do think Rasmussen is going to be quite a good reliever in a year or two.

Not an upgrade at SS and costs us bullpen depth. Brewers must feel good about guys like Wahl, Weigel, Perdomo, etc. Not sure I agree. Maybe they were worried about a 40 man crunch when all these injured pitchers come back. With Adames, Urias, Wong up the middle this might spell the end for many of these AAAA utility guys, like Reyes, Robertson, Peterson, Mathias, etc. but I'm not holding my breath.

I like Adames over Reyes for sure. At least there is a plan B for Urias if they opt to send him down at some point and they don't have to rely on Robertson either.

 

However, would rather have Arcia/Feyereisen/Rasmussen over Adames/Weigel/Sobotka so kind of disappointing as well.

If Adames is good defensively that will trend with the all defense approach. Unfortunately we’ll still lose because we won’t be scoring any runs, but at least we won’t be giving up free runs on as many errors. Wish we kept Arica… sigh.
