Sometimes, you eat the bar...

I read somewhere that the Coens had Sam Elliot do one particular line like 13 times. After take 13 he asked them if there was something he could do differently. They said no. They got it on take two but just liked hearing him deliver the dialog.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

That's great. Can't say I blame them. It's an all-time line delivery.

I size up people in my personal life by delivering this line (in a Sam Elliott drawl, of course) and seeing who gets it and who has no idea what I'm talking about.

That must be exhausting.

A useful test. I'm for it.

I will probably regret this but this plate ump has been right on the money with the zone so far.

Best zone I have seen this year.

How about this one?

That’s absolutely nuts. Two missed pitches all game, both on legit borderline strikes? Sign me up for that….

If regular umpiring was anywhere near that, amen. I'll take a consistent 95 percent. It really is amazing to me how little a lot of umpires seem to care about getting better. This is useful technology. Use it, man.

Wow....this guy has not missed many or any so far.

Ozzie Albies had to be carried off after a Yelich style foul ball off his own knee cap. Did not look good.

That does not bode well for either the Braves or my fantasy team. Heal up, Ozzie.

I'm watching the game on FS1. They have showed the Brewers dugout several times and Dan Vogelbach is present. Gotta figure he is activated tomorrow.

*Edit - Apparently McCalvey tweeted it will be Vogelbach and Topa.

If we see the Giants in the playoffs we will see Quintana again.

Seems to have our number.

Which one of the Giants starters are they going to bench just to start Quintana?

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Good point...

That'll do, Woody, that'll do

Yep.....Glad he did not have to face another. His location had disappeared and one big fly and it would have made things interesting.

If the Giants got him on a waiver claim, I’m a bit surprised he made it to San Francisco since they’re in the opposite league and have the best record.
