At worst the Brewers get one off the Reds magic number today. Because the Cards have 3 fewer losses, their magic number is the same.

Rough series for the Reds. I think it's going to be them and the Cards all the way to the wire.

Bradley needs to maybe not try to throw it so hard...

Just saw the Bader grounder. Geez. That should've been foul twice. How does that happen? My goodness...

So did he foul it off his foot then? Sure looked like it to me on the one look I got. But nobody was mentioning it so I figured I must’ve misjudged it.

I actually think the umps got this call right. The ball initially bounced foul but then went fair. Escobar put a glove on it in fair territory, it was on the foul line when he touched it. That’s a fair ball. The part I don’t get is the play being scored a double and Burnes getting charged with two runs. Seemed like an error to me. Also didn’t get replay calling Bader safe at 2nd.

I guess Strickland was due for a bad outing but he is all over the place and is giving Goldsxhmidt a chance to pile on.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Did he touch it? Sure looked on Cards TV like it went under the glove. Maybe there's an angle I missed?

Goldschmidt slam coming.

I get feeling pessimistic, but the sheer certainty in your "sky is falling" posts is actually kinda funny.

Attempt at a reverse jinx.

The cosmos seems to enjoy proving me wrong.

Yeah they had one look that showed it did indeed graze the glove.

Haven’t been able to watch the game at all. Just keeping an eye on the box score but considering how well Burnes started out the game, it was disappointing to see him only go 5 innings. He needed to be nearly perfect with the lineup we have out there today and that’s a lot to ask. Hoping for a late inning rally.

There was a view from behind that showed that it nicked his glove. The crappy part is...should have never tried to field it anyway.

I don’t see this as a situation where getting the starter out of the game is a good thing. I was really hoping someone else could connect on the crap Lester tosses up there before he escaped. The relievers are likely to be tougher.

Besides McFarland do they have another lefty in the pen?

It's hysterical the amount of chicken little, sky is falling on the board in general and the IGTs in particular. I mean, I get the emotional fragility but the doomsday cheer leading is beyond absurd. You'd think some of these people have never paid any attention to a baseball season.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
