2021-09-11: Brewers (Burnes) at Indians (Plesac) [Brewers win, 3-0 -- Burnes (8 IP) & Hader (1 IP) combine for NO HITTER]

[ThisIsMyCrew]

Perks of being up in the division, can skip a start or push back if needed.

[Harold Hutchison]

You normally don’t get a trophy for a perfect game but if Burnes finishes this it might win him the Cy Young.

It would be a statement, like those two cycles were for Yelich in 2018...

Plus two days off before his next scheduled start.

If Corbin can get through the 7th unscathed, then things will get very interesting.

[Harold Hutchison]

Walk... but still a chance for a no-no...

[DuWayne Steurer]

he's at 90 p with 9 outs to get. this is getting pretty darn dicey

[adambr2]

He's about out of gas.

[folly412]

Craig might like his chances with Devin + Hader for a combined over sending him back out.

There's no way he's going 9. If this somehow ends up being a no-no it will be a combined no-no.

[DuWayne Steurer]

last batter here

[Harold Hutchison]

21 up, 20 down, 12K, 1 BB...

[markedman5]

Got him!

[DuWayne Steurer]

nice game. let Williams and hader take it from here

[Harold Hutchison]

22 up, 21 down, 13 K, 1 BB.

Six more outs...

[PinaMadness]

It would really be nice if the offense can put up a few here and make Counsell's decision a little easier.

[willie key]

That’s it for burnes

We got big things down the road

[OldHeidelberg]

These things usually take care if themselves. If Burnes feels good and wants to go back out you let him go out and try to pitch to contact. He starts to labor at all you pull him.

[folly412]

I'd pull him. Seems Craig may be feeling bolder than I.

No it’s not….bullpen quiet

[SeaBass]

If he pulls Burnes during a no no I'm not going to be happy.

[Ron Robinsons Beard]

If he pulls Burnes during a no no I'm not going to be happy.

If he leaves Burnes in to throw 130 pitches, and his arm is shot, the rest of us aren't going to be happy. Gotta be smart, and wearing out your ace in a relatively meaningless September game isn't the way to do it.

[willie key]

Well. If burnes goes the distance I say you give him an extended period until next start

Like a few days off.

[Fear The Chorizo]

Gotta remember how he hasn't had to worry at all about hitting this game, so he might have a bit more in him to go for it - I get the thinking of pulling Burnes at this point...but damn if I was in CC's shoes right now I just couldn't do it yet. Edited September 12, 2021 by Fear The Chorizo

It's all situational. If he walks the first 2 guys in the 8th and is at 115 pitches I sure hope they would pull him.

[Harold Hutchison]

You get Williams to warm up, but only pull Burnes if he loses the no-no.
