RHP Noah Zavolas has just arrived in Arizona where he will spend some time before heading to an affiliate.  I will update when I hear back on the specifics whether it is an injury or something else.

Good to hear it sounds like he should be back reasonably soon. Whenever a pitcher doesn't show up in any of the minor league spring training lineups nor on an opening day roster, my mind immediately goes to "Well, not going to be seeing them this season," just assuming Tommy John or shoulder surgery.

Thank You! We've been wondering and I found not a peep yesterday. Your intel and work in the early going has been very very appreciated.

26-year-old RHP Matt Hardy has been "activated" to the AAA Nashville roster, we should see his 2022 debut soon. To make room, RHP J.T. Hintzen, 25, was moved to the AA Biloxi roster, where he made his own season debut Thursday night.

RHP Justin Bullock was placed on Biloxi's 7-day injured list retroactive to April 13, 2022. The 22-year-old (23 next month) allowed four runs (three earned) in two innings in his first start of 2022. The fact that this is a retroactive placement is hopefully a good sign that what ails Bullock is relatively minor.

There are three players listed on active rosters who have yet to see action.

Buzz-worthy RH reliever Taylor Floyd (#23 on MLB Pipeline's Brewers Top 30) has yet to appear in Biloxi's six games.

Also yet to see action are switch-hitting catcher Alex Hall and inspiring cancer-survivor RHP Tyler Gillies, both on the Timber Rattlers roster.

OF Je’Von Ward is very close to a return.  Pending a setback, he should join A+ Wisconsin by the end of April, beginning of May.  Biloxi is a possibility but current plan seems to be Wisconsin, Tristan Peters sent down to Carolina, and Oswal Leones is the odd man out.

The Brewers utilized some of the remaining money in their January 2022 international signing pool to ink three arms, transactions formally posted on 3/25. We'll likely see them when the DSL season begins.

6'2", 185 lb. LHP David Dominguez
6'3", 185 lb. RHP Aneuris Rodriguez
6'2", 175 lb. RHP Franddy De Los Santos

The only other info we have is that De Los Santos is a Dominican native who posted his signing photo on his Instagram page.

Great news about Zhao. Another intriguing young arm on that staff.

Also, on the Gustave question, I got the position and level (or technically lack thereof) right, but yah, there was no way I was remembering that name.

The Timber Rattlers were in Milwaukee tonight for their day off to take in a big league game.  This is not surprising but what is…. RHP Abner Uribe was also at the game which means he has either been sent down to A+ (unlikely) or is in Milwaukee to undergo surgery (last pitched 4/12).

Just spoke with Abner:

Bad news- He will not return this season

Good news- Nothing arm related, will undergo knee surgery in the coming days

Dang.  Tough break for him and the Brewers.

- RHP Matt Hardy assigned to AA Biloxi from AAA Nashville

Presumably, this will give Hardy more opportunities, after throwing just one inning (19 pitches) thus far in 2022. This will also help Biloxi fill the absence of injured RHP Abner Uribe.

- OF Tristen Lutz activated from AA Biloxi's 7-day injured list
- C Jesus Garcia assigned to AAA Nashville from ACL Brewers Gold in an obviously short-term move

  • Outfield shuffling in Nashville, as per the Sounds Media Notes - Abraham Almonte and Garrett Whitley were each placed on the 7-day injured list, both retroactive to 4/25. Just in time to help patrol the grass, Jonathan Davis played in his first game since 4/9. We are not aware of the status/reason behind the placements.

LHP Arman Sabouri (Tommy John surgery, September 2021) and OF Je'Von Ward were both placed on the Wisconsin 60-day IL on April 8th, though the transactions just posted online.

I don't believe we ever saw a definitive report on the nature of Ward's injury, so we won't speculate, but he won't be back until mid-June at the earliest.

RHP Juan Geraldo (Mudcats 2021) was placed on the Carolina 60-day, also as of this year's Opening Day, April 8th. He also underwent Tommy John surgery last fall.

Just spoke to Ernesto Martinez, he told me that OF Sal Frelick has been moved up to AA Biloxi.  Probably an official announcement tomorrow, but talk about a stacked outfield…

Should also add that Ernesto is currently out with a sprained wrist.
