Well at least one Brewers hitter has had some success off of Orioles southpaw John Means. Mike Brosseau is 5-for-11 with 4 home runs against Means for his career. 

The Brewers-Orioles rubber match is a night game despite the Brewers home opener being scheduled for late afternoon tomorrow. Maybe for the better, however, since the Crew’s record in day games is 1-3 while they are now 1-0 in night games. 

Last night’s win was the 400th game between the Brewers and Orioles and it “improved” the Brewers all-time record against the Orioles to 170-230. That’s just a 42.5 winning percentage which is the Brewers 4th worst winning percentage against any opponent, but it’s far more games than they’ve played against the 3 teams they’ve performed worse against: Braves (67-93, 41.9%), Dodgers (67-93, 41.9%), Rays (5-7, 41.7%).

What kind of monster organization schedules a night game on a getaway day before the opposing team's home opener?

If they can pull this one out they'll finish with a .500 road trip which isn't ideal but definitely not a disaster. The key is obviously to get the W tonight

This is all on the Brewers, actually.  Orioles have a night game Friday and still have a day off tomorrow - the afternoon home opener in Milwaukee has as much to do with it being 4/14 day (something the Brewers embraced to start this game at 4:14 pm to coincide with the City's area code celebration that has been happening since 2010).

It's on the Brewers for not scheduling a thursday home game to open a 4 game series on the heels of a road trip at 7pm - because it happens to be on 414 day.  Having the first two series of the original schedule shifted due to retrofitting the calendar after the lockout is the reason this happens to be the Crew's home opener, too.

I fail to see how this is the Brewers fault. Like you said this wasn't originally scheduled to be their home opener, it was scheduled to be a random Thursday night game. But because it is the home opener they moved the time up as is customary with most home openers. The Orioles could have agreed to push the game time up as I'm sure the Brewers would have preferred but Baltimore decided to keep it as a night game

Home teams tend to get to pick what times their games start.  Baltimore had zero reason to move a wednesday night game in mid April to a daytime start because their opponent had to fly home and wants to start their next game late in the afternoon.  The Orioles aren't traveling and have a day off Thursday on their schedule.  Why would they want to shift a midweek gametime when it would just inconvenience their own fans who purchased tickets and made travel plans in the first place to attend an evening game?

The original schedule had tomorrow's game slated for a 6:40 start...so the Brewers opted to push it up 2.5 hours to follow a hokey 414 theme since it became their home opener.  It's not like they're on the west coast and losing a few hours in time zones traveling to Milwaukee tonight and the game's a noon start.

Remember the Orioles are also the same team who a few years ago refused to move their game from a night game to a day game so the Ravens could open up the NFL Season at home after winning the Superbowl and instead the Ravens had to open on the road in Denver

The example you listed from back in 2013 had both the Orioles and White Sox flying into Baltimore the night before a September series, which at the time this scheduling flap came up very much had likely postseason ramifications (both teams were playoff contenders in 2012).  

Plus, that was much more of a MLB vs NFL scheduling spat than the Orioles declaring they were the Darth Vader of scheduling.

Teams move games all the time for various reasons. The Orioles are under zero obligation to help the Brewers but that doesn't stop it from being a crappy thing to do on the Orioles part. Fwiw in April 2019 there was almost no correlation between day and night games for attendance in Baltimore. The Orioles have always been a crappy organization and have proven it time and time again, this just adds in a minor way to that list. But it is relatively minor so I'm going to drop it from here so we can discuss the actual game being played tonight

It's too bad but it's understandable given the circumstances. I don't think it was an 'analytics is ruining baseball' type decision, he's coming back from injury and spring training was shortened.

I'm all for coming up with ways to celebrate almost anything, but I have to be honest celebrating your area code never occurred to me. 

We have a Couple of Fin's as friends and the wife carrying festival explains a lot.  I once saw a cheese rolling contest in the UK, but it wasn't in the location from the 2nd link. I guess it's a standard thing for the brits.

It’s not celebrating the area code - it’s celebrating the city.  The area code is just an identifier and representation of the city that was used for picking the date to celebrate Milwaukee and, in this case, the time for opening day first pitch. 
 

No one is celebrating the first 3 digits of their phone number any more than Americans celebrate their love for five-pointed shapes and horizontal lines on July 4th.
