Game Thread (5/28/2022): Brewers (Houser) at Cardinals (Liberatore) - 1:15 PM CDT

The only complaint I have about Houser is that he's gotta really work on limiting these "blow-up" starts. Cause he's been terrific, otherwise.

Dillard just suggested that Urias was probably thinking about throwing to 3rd with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd only…….yeah Tim…..routine ground ball to short and he’s thinking about a tag play at 3rd……just stop trying to over analyze every play……he booted it…..that’s it…..nothing else needs to be said…..

disappointing performance all around today……especially with Mikolas going tomorrow.

Burnes pitches tomorrow. Not worried at all.

Certainly we can win…..but it’s silly not to be worried at all.

Mikolas is pitching great……and our offense has been anemic against worse pitchers on this trip.

Yeah. No concern would be foolish, with how our offense is hitting with runners on base rn. But it's a pitching matchup that should favor us. Very few opposing pitchers (if any in this league) where Burnes doesn't give us at least a decent edge.

At this point I don’t even care if Hiura’s reverse platoon splits are a total fluke, you have to play him against RHPs everyday while he’s on this sort of streak.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

And Cain needs to be DFA'd. I'm sorry, but it's time. You've even got Levering and Dillard reminiscing about what he's meant for the organization now.

Why?  Pretty strong reverse splits in his career…

.200 vs LHP

.260 vs RHP

This is what I was talking about, nearly all of the cardinals relievers are rightys. Going to get to them eventually.

Why be worried? You have the best pitcher in baseball taking the mound. Just enjoy it. Team leaves in first place regardless and will have a TON of home games in the 2nd half of the schedule.

Imagine going over your budget for a weak side platoon bat and then using him as an everyday player.

And thinking he is anything other than a platoon hitter for the last 3 years. Their is a reason he was still available to sign.

Counsell has a weakness for veterans so McCutchen will remain an everyday player unless he gets injured.

Ive mentally already pencilled him into the cleanup spot for tomorrow.  Im at the acceptance stage of coping

Give a manager a "proven veteran" and he will continue to use him even when the stats show he can't hit.
