I wonder If we traded for both bell and Soto if they’d magically become terrible on the brewers as well.

The humorous part of these conversations is that I follow many baseball teams.

Literally every team’s fan base is convinced their batters are inept in critical situations.

Maybe we just need to collectively contextualize the nature of baseball and realize that failure happens 75% of the time.

This team isn't good enough to trade useful prospects away for short term results. They may win the division because St Louis is just as bad but neither team will have much success come playoff time.

For sure. Those 2006 Cardinals were a trash team, they should have sold.

Its hard to take a team seriously when there isn't one everyday player hitting even in the .270s much less .300.

Have you looked at MLB averages lately? Yes, the Brewers need contact guys but you’re using a measuring stick that doesn’t exist anymore.

So where are our 13 world series championships?

OK, I know it doesn't work that way, but saying failure happens 75% of the time implies that randomly this organization should have more success than it does.  Successful teams are less than 75% and bad teams are more than 75% on average.  Winning isn't just luck.

I’m talking about specific moments in modern baseball. A .250 batting average is roughly league average right now. That means a hitter fails to drive in a runner on base 75% of the time.

With an inside the park grand slam for lulz.

That was on a fly ball to CF by Tapia that the CF never saw. He stood with his arms out, then came in a few steps, and the ball hit off the wall behind him. By the time the LF retrieved the ball they had no play.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Oh, it was a painful play to watch. And the fact he didn’t even run toward the ball only made it worse.

Been watching other TV shows. Tuned back into game to hear Brewers had 2 men on, no outs, and didn't score. Didn't that happen a couple of innings earlier too? ABSOLUTELY PITIFUL!!

The numbers around the game are down for sure but this is a terrible lineup for a contending team and lets face it we are only in the race due to playing in an inept division.

The pitch clock cannot arrive quickly enough.

Counterpoint. I've been smoking a sirloin roast with applewood for the last 2 hours preparing for tomorrow night's game. What's the big hurry?
