Rowdy has started 98 games at either first or DH this season…….he hasn’t been platooned……he just isn’t going to play every single game.

If we don’t figure out how to do better against left handed starters we aren’t winning the division…….especially now that the Cards have added 2 of them.

Hiura is hitting like every other player on the team.     And better than a lot of them.       He just can’t find a place in the field to play.      And at dh we have a guy who’s 392 years old and can’t go to the minors.    So hiura gets dumped on

Look at the schedules.    We aren’t winning this division.    Unless we dominate the cardinals the 7 games we play them.    We won’t do that.    That pirates series was the death knell.    And now we could lose ground when the cards are playing the freaking yankees

the numbers just don’t add up.  They just don’t.

Like I said in another thread, if they couldn’t get a true impact bat because the price was too high, they could have at least gotten a right handed hitter who could hit lefties and can actually PLAY first base, not just stand there. Hiura can do neither of those things and that leaves him with no role. 
 

The Cardinals, Phillies, Braves, and Mets all went out and got some players to fill specific weaknesses they had, not with All Stars but with guys who have specific skills.
