If Volpe is a better version of Adames, why not just hand him the SS job outright?

They upgrade at SP?

Burnes/Adames to Yankees for Cortes/Volpe/Dominguez/Gil

Extra year control with Cortes or flip him Giants for Harrison

Volpe is a better version on Adames

Dominguez is a total wild card

Why would the Brewers want to add another prospect OF in Dominguez? Gil is coming off arm surgery and won't be available until July or later, but a decent throwin. I'd like: Peraza/Volpe/Cortes/Beeter/Gil.  Brewers get two high quality SS/3B prospects, a good SP replacement for Burnes, a very good prospect in Beeter, and a wild card in Gil who could prove to be valuable when he gets back.

Would look at other teams before the Yankees

Based on what you said in the "Burnes to BAL proposal" and know this. Can you enlighten us with at least the division you are hearing then?

I can't help but think that we underestimated the relief pitching market and now regret not picking up Boxberger's option, similar to December 2019 when we missed out on an easy reunion with Jesus Aguilar then ended up over-paying for Justin Smoak and Eric Sogard.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that this all works out in the end, even if our Big 3 Leverage Relievers are Williams/Bush/Milner.

{Step 3: Pretend Acceptance (when you're actually doing reverse-jinx Bargaining)]

I'd do 2 with a lottery ticket added, but not 1 or 3...

All three come with risks. The twins is the safest one with getting three players that were in the big leagues last year.

If the Brewers still want to be competitive, which i believe they do, they do the Twins deal.

Arraez goes to 2b and bats lead off, Ryan is a 3 starter and  Kirilloff is our 1B.

Plus all come with 3+ years of control.

I can't imagine this is true but just throwing this out there. Hypothetically I would assume SD would kick in a ton of money. No idea what a fair return would be

In terms of the immediate, he has a full NTC and only makes $7M in 2023, so would obviously have to approve any deal and would fit in the budget.

Salaries climb to 11, 20, 20, 25, 25 through 2028 (Yelich’s last guaranteed year) before hitting $36M annually from 2029-36.

If we can get him without giving up Chourio, there wouldn’t be a much higher upside play that could be made.

Obviously the injury and PED stuff are huge mitigating factors, but he wouldn’t be theoretically available otherwise.

This guy does have almost 15,000 followers on Twitter so it’s possible he’s not just making stuff up but still hard to believe. When is Tatis eligible to return?

April 20th assuming no set backs from his recent wrist surgery.

What would a Tatis trade look like? The only thing that the Padres need is maybe another stater or some outfield help. Also Grisham and Kim are likely on the block.

Tatis (future cash like 40 million/ 10 per each last 4 years) for Ashby, Mitchell, Black, Carlos Rodriguez (P), Hedbert Perez (I get this isn't close to fair value)

I don't have a clue where Tatis would even play maybe 3rd. This could be a chance at a Nolan Arenado style steal of a trade.

Tatis has grown out of favor in SD and I could see him fitting in perfectly with our young guys and looking for a low key new home. SD owes a ton to Machado, Bogearts, Tatis, and likely Soto eventually (not to mention Musgrove or other impending FA's Darvish, Snell, Hader) Trading Tatis now to extend Soto and others makes sense and we could help by giving them a couple solid pieces for the big league team and rebuild there farm system.

I think it's a bad attempt at a joke. But even if Tatis had half the value that BTV gives him, you'd have to give up Woodruff and Quero.

At full value, it would be Chourio, Mitchell, and Ashby.

I looked at his page as well as the replies to his post.  Seems like a classic haughty talk radio bluster type of guy.  Most of the 90+ responses to this particular tweet were calling him out or calling him names.  His follower count means little in terms of actual credibility.

Maybe he's onto something, but I highly doubt it.  If he's actually right, kudos to him.

Tatis is one of the few I'd actually seriously consider giving up Chourio for. Not sure if I'd follow through with it, but I'd be very tempted...

That is just a troll post on Twitter.  I don't believe there is any truth to this as this is more than likely the highheat version of a sports show host.

Not that I think this is true... but what if this was a Yelich+ swap to balance salaries?  We unjam our OF, save some short term money for flexibility (or Adames/SP extensions), solve SS/3B (Adames/Tatis or Tatis/Adames) and balance out our LH/RH mix.

Edit: nvm... I didn't realize how much negative trade value Yelich has (per baseball trade values anyway).

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I don't think that site is accurate when it comes to actual player values at all. It's a fun, fan-created thing that should very much not be taken anywhere close to seriously. They've been so, so wrong on their values so many times.

They have not been so so wrong on their values please provide facts if you are going to say something like that.  They have been off but not by much really.

I do think BTV is probably high on the value Tatis has. He has raised some serious question marks. Not that I think he has negative value or anything like that or that this will happen. But I could certainly see them selling low on him compared to this
