Be an ace, Burnsie!

I was listening to the Dodgers' radio broadcast on Sirius on the way home tonight and they said Burns has a high ERA against LA.

Maybe the Padres will end up being terrible and keep us in the race

but this team needs to start winning multiple games in a row.   Like 4 or 5.

He isn’t helping it tonight, but he had only pitched 14 innings against the Dodgers coming into tonight.

There was the start last week where he gave up 3 runs in the sixth after 5 scoreless innings. Last year he only faced them in a tune up start the last weekend and he gave up 3 runs in 2 innings, and in 2019 he gave up 5 runs in a start when he was pretty much getting pounded by everyone.

So, his performance against the Dodgers has been very poor, but in a small number of appearances.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Padres struggling is starting to look like the Brewers only chance to slip into the final playoff spot. Have to hope that their offense doesn’t start to produce the way everyone expected after they got Soto, Bell, and Drury to help out Machado.

The Phillies schedule is almost as soft as the Cardinals’ and they have been scoring a lot of runs and piling up wins against the weak teams. Harper hit 2 HRs in a rehab start tonight and should be rejoining them soon.

I’m guessing the padres  will figure it out enough to put us away

I just can’t believe how bad we have been against the pirates cubs etc.

Giving the Dodgers 5 + outs in an inning isn't working out. What a shock.

Brewers continue to fail at fundamental parts of the game such as defense.

Not to take anything away from Freddie on that hit. Nice work with the wrists to serve it out to left, the announcer was like "not many left handed hitters can handle a fastball up and away out of the zone". Should anything suter throws really be classified as a fastball?

Care to back that up? It looks like the brewers as a team rank 8th in baseball in DRS with 30. That includes obvious weak spots like yelich. We aren't going to play perfect defense, we aren't going to get a hit every at bat, we aren't going to beat every team 10-0, especially the dodgers

They sure don't pass the eye test. That ground ball to third that Urias threw in the dirt should have been an error.

Feels like a lot of things are going wrong all at once as of late. Burnes doesn’t seem as sharp in the 2nd half of the season, we still can’t seem to hit consistently, and the bullpen is more shaky than it used to be.

They certainly do to me, and defensive metrics back them up. Yes, urias should have gotten an error on that one bad play he made. Im sure that will factor in to the team defense on the season and we'll remain a very above average defensive team...

I just watched Urias throw a ball away, Adames completely wiff on a grounded and the catcher missed a called strike 3. Gonna go ahead and just say that's bad defense.
