It was in the same trade so the trade was not this year.

Drew Rasmussen does not fit in this answer.

I see. Well maybe someone will now have a better guess. I had to look it up to understand where I should be feeling a guess.

I had no clue on Gallen who he was until reading the pregame comments. So obviously I wouldn't have a guess on who he was traded with. How lucky that we aren't facing both as often as we would had they both never been traded away.

The funny thing is, people have made comments about Alexander, and for sure he's no world-beater, but he's probably serviceable as a back-end rotation guy except for one thing: if you're going to be that style of pitcher you CANNOT walk people unless strategically to your advantage. He gets the strikeout-DP then falls behind & walks the next hitter for no particular reason w/Walker on deck. I've seen him make hitters look really uncomfortable, but then he just suddenly puts the dunce cap on & it costs him. I guess that's one of the ingredients in the "AAAA" recipe.

He's serviceable as a AAAA guy who is in the majors for parts of a season. They should be smart and pull him after he goes through the lineup twice (unless he's done it in under 60 pitches).

Pulling him after twice thru yeah, that's probably more appropriate with him than just about anyone else on the staff.

I really don't think pitch count should ever factor into it with Alexander unless he's at 100 in the fifth, and due to the first point he's probably gone by then anyway.

We can't score 5 runs in a week.?

Sure they can.  Off the top of my head they must be averaging 5 solo HR a week so there you go.

Looking at the schedule I'm not sure there is 12 wins left on it.

I predicted months ago they would finish the season below .500.  The crap they pulled last night isn’t going to help

So if the Dbacks didn't have a WP/PB in the 8th last night, the Brewers don't score and they fall short and are swept by the Dbacks.  A gift gave them a chance, otherwise we'd be looking at a 4 game losing streak.

Trivia - Zac Gallen was one of two pitchers likely to finish in the top 10 in the Cy Young vote this year who were packaged together in a trade.  Without looking, who was the other pitcher, what team were they traded from, and who were they traded for?

Alcantara - Cardinals - Ozuna

Frelick is probably our best hitter in the minors. Figures they didn't want to bring him up. Wish we took a page from the DBacks.

My vote would be for Jackson Chourio as the best brewer minor league hitter. Definitely the one with the most promise by far.

Every time Ruiz or Mitchell leads off an inning, I would have them bunt.

I can think of scenarios other than that when it would be a good idea, too. What I suspect, at least in the case of Ruiz, is you get up here and feel the need to, I don't know if conform is the right word, but you look around & don't see anyone else doing it so you don't either. Folks in authority should be encouraging him to look for it as well, and I doubt if that's happening.

To borrow a hoops term, Arizona was tough to guard all weekend. We're very easy to guard.

Correct!  Gallen and Sandy Alcantara were part of a package sent by the Cardinals to the Marlins for Ozuna.

If the Cardinals trading away Gallen and Alcantara for that putz doesn't make you feel good, then nothing will.
