This guy comes across so likeable, I'm really rooting for him. Hopefully they're looking for a trade for Hiura, because Voit is a better version of him for my money, and more consistent

They have a couple of guys to put on the 60 day IL so that shouldn't be an issue. They actually still may be deciding between him and Hiura. Could also be trying to trade Hiura and don't want to show their hand.

With Rhys Hoskins suffering a knee injury, Voit is likely making the team today or leaving the organization.

They called it a procedural move so I think it’s likely he gets a ML contract from the Brewers soon. Sounds like both sides have been friendly so far with Voit pushing back his opt out some days ago.

Done deal.  Brewers signed him with a team option for '24.

Voit actually has a split contract, heavy on incentives. Even the $2m base salary isn’t likely guaranteed.

My interpretation of this is that if he flops and we attempt to option him to AAA, he could either accept the option (he’ll have the right to reject it, as he’ll earn his 5th year of MLB service time a few days into the season) and keep earning a $200k minor league salary OR reject it and try his luck signing an MLB deal elsewhere.
