YES. NO NAQUIN OR HIURA. Naquin is very meh, and Hiura can't get his strikeout rate below 40%...Probably means that one of Sal Frelick or Joey Wiemer will be on the OD roster, too.

Sucks that it had to come to this, though, with a former #9 pick who looked like a burgeoning star after 2019. Never seen a 70 grade hit tool turn so sharply into a 40...

Hopefully Adames got the swing and miss out the way this ST and is ready to go when the season starts next week because he’s been really bad this spring.

Spring training stats are 99.9% meaningless. Owen Miller and Mike Brosseau are not suddenly going to turn into all-star hitters, and Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, and Brandon Woodruff are not going to combine for a near-5.00 ERA. Only thing to really pay attention to is injuries and velocity (for pitchers).

I just am not a fan of seeing Adames have a K-rate at 43% ever even if it is ST.

He K'd 36% in 2020's shortened season, yet still put up a 126 wRC+. But like with ST, that was a SSS. He'll always have K issues, but he's no Hiura (unless he suddenly decided to change his swing like Hiura).

Small and Claudio aren’t exactly inspiring confidence in our LHP depth, combining for 5 walks in the 8th inning today. And where the heck is LHP Thomas Pannone, who seems to be MIA for the past few weeks? I hope they all figure it out by next week in Nashville!

He overperformed his xwOBA by 40 points in 2020 and had a .388 BABIP. If you think that would have been sustainable production over a full season you are absolutely fooling yourself.

Lauer with one more absolutely terrible outing in him before the season starts. Rockies just all over him. I have zero confidence in him heading into the season.

IMO, Hh's a guy with a big enough track record of success in the majors that I think you can toss Spring Training stats out the window. If he's struggling come May, I'll be concerned.

I was already low confidence in him because he was one of the biggest overperformers of his peripheral numbers last season and was one of the biggest beneficiaries of defensive help in the MLB last year.

It's a good problem to have. I remember those years where Lauer would have been the #1 starter on this staff, and this fanbase would be considering him a star. I think he's a solid #3-4 starter. Probably nothing more, but most assuredly a legit MLB starting pitcher.

I'm not saying you should have complete confidence in the guy, and I agree he's due for some regression, but just take a look at Lauer's spring numbers the last three seasons...More than likely, he'll be fine for what he's slated for; namely, holding down a back of the rotation slot.

It's more of a mystery what this team sees in Bryse Wilson. He sucks and has for quite a while now. Hopefully he's just this year's Jose Urena.

Big arm. Former top prospect (although it was with the Braves, so HUGE grain of salt with that proclamation). He does have 11 Ks in 12 2/3 innings this spring coming into today, so the swing-and-miss stuff is there. He was certainly worth a flyer.

Yeah I think someone mentioned it but his ST is always dog crap (maybe he relies heavier on scouting reports than some?) but remember he was ace like at the start of last season
