I'd also be unsurprised if this is where Keion White goes - I believe he's also in KC tonight? It'd be fun to pair White with Karlaftis.

What happens if the clock runs out on the last pick tonight?  Seen rare occasions in the past the next team picks, but the next round doesn’t start till tomorrow.  They wouldn’t let Pittsburgh pick, so what makes KC pick by the clock?

A bunch of talent I like heading into day two with two 2nds- Branch in the secondary, Hyatt at WR, Washington & Mayer at TE. I'm a fan of White and Adetomiwa Adebawore, but it's doubtful they double-dip at edge early.

Any reason Joey Porter dropped today? Just wondering if anyone heard anything. I expected him to be gone.

You probably just predicted who goes 1st in 2nd rd. Or 2nd after Levis.

wondering just how far Levis may drop into the 2nd round....also Hendon Hooker.  Wouldn't surprise me to see the Lions and Rams snatch them up early tomorrow and push enough talent at other positions close enough to GB's picks where they just snatch up two starters with them

Yep. A lot of talent here in round 2. Packers are set up pretty well.

Would the Packers pick TE/TE with both 2nd rounders today? That would be a bold but not necessarily a terrible move? Or maybe it would be terrible lol. I'm not advocating for it, just a crazy idea one of my friends floated.

A lot of the remocks I saw this AM has LaPorta. I'd love Washington at 42. (which means he won't be the pick). Someone like Downs or Hyatt would be nice at 45.

I absolutely love LaPorta so that would make me incredibly happy. He looks to be the next great Iowa TE. It has been rumored for quite some time the Packers are infatuated w Hyatt - I just don't know if he lasts that long.

I don't think it's that crazy. They probably won't do that but in a draft extremely strong at TE, and with a roster very thin, why not take two stabs at your favorite ones?

I had the same thought.  Maybe not if you get Mayer since he’s fairly well rounded. But the idea of pairing say Washington and Musgrave would interesting.  Especially since Musgrave functions as a de facto slot receiver..  I’m guessing it doesn’t happen because you can pick up a Schoonover as a second TE with later in the draft

I’d love to see them trade up since they have the two second rounders. Try to get Hyatt or Mayer.

I would be shocked if Hyatt falls to us as it stands. Some team will take him or move up to take him. Mayer is a bit more of a wildcard. I could see him falling.

I think they could also just stand pat with the two picks comfortably as well. In a draft widely considered very deep through 60 or so, despite the lack of high end star-type prospects, it may prove beneficial to have two stabs en lieu of one?

Good 1st day. Nobody grossly drafted. Number of trades. Packers fill a huge need. And with 2 early 2nd rd picks they are likely still to fill 2 more(TE please)

I would say the Lions grossly drafted.

Yah, they are in a great spot regardless. Top half of the second round is still filled with 1st round talents that just didn’t fit teams needs/board. Then position that simply don’t get drafted high like TE.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Jordan Love can do this season - that being said, it wouldn't shock/upset me one bit if one of these 2nd round picks gets used on a quarterback if either Levis or Hooker falls in their laps.  I doubt either get anywhere close to pick #42 even without any other teams trading up targeting those QBs, but it's at least worth thinking about a scenario where one of them is still on the board when it's GB's turn.

Not having the 5th year option tied to a 2nd round pick and having a young starting quarterback in place makes either Levis or Hooker quite attractive to the Packers, IMO - if Love stinks then they've got a developmental backup who could take over next season or in 2025 with 2-3 cheap prove-it years left on their rookie deal, and if Love proves to be really good the Packers have a quality trade chip to gain future draft capital in 2024/2025.

I'd prefer GB stand pat and pick two players at 42 and 45 given the volume of solid prospects at positions GB needs to fill (TE/WR/S/DT/OL), definitely don't want them to package both to move up and get just one bite at the apple.  If they just pick best player available on their board at 42 and 45 they're likely going to wind up with two starters at key positions.

if Love stinks

You just know some zany morning DJ is going to be playing this ad nauseum the first time he has a 3 INT game:
