I think 2-2 is a fair result. Cubs really should've won Games 1 and 2, and Brewers should have won 3 and 4. Still, both teams will be really upset not to have taken 3 of 4. Sounds like Brewers-Cubs to me.

Now if the Nats can just steal this game in Washington, that would really be nice.

Throw in that Pittsburgh game from last week along with the 2 close ones from this series and we are really close to having gone on one heck of a streak.

The Reds just tied it up.

Great series for the drama of baseball…. Wouldnt be surprised if the last three games of season against Cubs mean something,

I guess there's a case for the Cubs should've won game 1 but game 2 was definitely a should've won game. Scoring two in the ninth to send the game to extra innings is not uncommon. An incompetent third base coach cost us that game.

Payamps was a great pick up for us this year!

He has a very good all-star case himself. If some pitchers end up dropping out, wouldn't be a complete shock to see him tapped.

That was a big one to win, especially with having to use the bullpen so heavily during this 17 game stretch.

Said before the series that if the Brewers could get 2 from the Cubs and 2 from the Reds it would be a good week. Now comes the hard part.

But they were behind the whole game including 6-2 in the 8th. A Cubs fan would reasonably look at that (and Monday when they led 6-0) as games the Cubs should have won.

I didn’t watch that one because of July 4th family festivities and was just following the scores on my watch. When the Cubs went ahead 6-2 I pretty much wrote it off. So, I was surprised when I saw it go to 6-4 then 6-6. Not seeing it live I was spared the anger of sending a runner into an out on the plate with one out in the 10th.

Senzel makes a game saving catch against the wall in the last of the 9th then hits a 2 run HR on the first pitch of the top of the 10th to put the Reds up 5-3.

The Reds are fire hot … mercy

Even if it is Washington

They are playing incredibly well

We need to win 2 or 3 before the break

With todays win the Reds have won 20 of 24 overall, and I think they said they have won 19 of their last 22 road games.

Huh? He's pitched 3/4 and 5/7. 25 stressful pitches last night.

Just as a friendly suggestion that you can take or leave.

When you make a post like this, think about leaving out those opening words.

Someone made a comment and you are providing some facts to address that comment. Great. But the first word comes across as unnecessarily argumentatve, like “What are you talking about?”

I do my best to avoid that kind of confrontational or condescending tone, and probably don’t always succeed. But, I think it would be good for all of us to keep in mind that not everyone follows every data point that closely.

I’m still amazed that people don’t think the reds are good.   They are clearly the team to beat in this division.    These next 6 games will tell if we are going to fight it out with them.

It's not that they're not good. It's that they're not this good.

They have a bunch of rookies and journeymen overperforming their career numbers and xStats. Their pitching has been as bad as our hitting for most of the year. They'll almost certainly come back down to earth a bit over the next few months.

But I agree that they're probably the biggest obstacle between us and the postseason at this point.
