Someone in the game thread last night wanted to know the catch probability of the d’Arnaud double that deflected off Frelick’s glove. It was 75ft in 4.4 seconds with a catch probability of 5%. 
 

Frelick was a few inches away from having caught a 5% and 10% catch probability fly ball in his first 2 MLB games

Frelick hitting cleanup again. I’m not sure that I like that spot for him but that’s probably more of an indictment on how bad our offense is right now.

Honestly a little surprised the Reds haven't struck a trade going into this series, since it's their last 3 head-to-head games against the Brewers (after losing every other series this season to the Crew).

It's not even just during Burnes starts anymore. 2 straight days Winker isn't playing against the RHP. Like what's the point cause he sure as heck doesn't play defense or run the bases....

Because who else do we have on the roster that's going to play 1B right now?

Because he's the only player on the 26 man roster who has any experience playing 1B other than Caratini?

Miller is 4th on the team on OPS+ and the only guy who has played 1B for over 100 games. He is bad no doubt but is unfortunately one of the better hitters on the team and the only "proper" 1B.

Because Miller is a good defender and they don’t have any other realistic better options who they are confident will hit and defend..

Again, who else are you going to play at 1B right now?

Sounds like a conversation he should be having with MA. If his hands were as tied as you make it seem, I think we'd see Miller hitting 8/9 more often than he hits in the 4-6 range. Just a few days ago he was batting cleanup.

He can only play who's on the roster. Wiemer and Turang pretty much have the 8 and 9 spots on lock.
