Add these guys to the Angels four and Bader/Donaldson.

As a reminder, the Brewers are currently 25th in the waiver wire pecking order....I can tell you that a fringe contender such as the Reds, which has seen their pitching depth dissipate in recent weeks, is going to be very happy picking up Mike Clevinger for virtually nothing...

Matt Moore makes a ton of sense.

Won't even make it to the Brewers who are at 25th as of today.

Teams with higher priority might pursue others, like Clevinger.

Of the teams ahead of the Brewers who need bullpen help are: Phillies, Cubs, Blue Jays, Rangers, Dbacks and Red Sox.  One of those teams are going to take Moore before the Brewers even get a chance to pick him up.  There aren't enough players on the waiver wire to get past this many teams,  The Giants or the Reds probably take one of the starting pitchers while the Cubs, Phillies, Blue Jays, Rangers, Dbacks and Red Sox pick over the relief pitchers.  The Rangers are in desperate need of relief pitching so if Moore is there then they are probably going to pick him up.

It's not as simple as simply matching players to teams. Agents will be involved, steering players to preferable destinations.

This is crazy, I would obviously be fine with Giolito, Bader, Lopez and Moore, I could see us swapping a bench guys for one of the others depending on money.

Agents will have no say as the player has no say on who will pick them.  So it is matching players to teams.

Lol, it's business dude, of course agents will be involved.

All these players are impending free agents, and being on waivers have no chance to control where they go, so agents will likely be indifferent.

What? How is an agent going to stop a waiver claim? What possible leverage could he have?

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Which to me is refreshing. WHAT!?! WE CAN'T ALL GO TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER?? HOW UNFAIR!!!! 😫.

I assume the Angels pulled Renfroe back. He played for them today.

So did Grichuk, Lopez and Moore.

Anderson's last PA was on August 22nd. That is ridiculous. DFA and get Donaldson/Black/Dorrian to the club.

Ridiculous is an understatement. What an absolute waste of a roster spot at this point. Time to move on ASAP.

Let's remember, they expand to 28. As unpopular as this may be, they could add a Nashville bat & still keep Anderson (not advocating for that, just speculating).

I think Black would be a decent fit (that's the direction I'd go). I could also see them giving him more regular ABs in Nashville & calling up Owen Miller. Bringing them both back & cutting Anderson would make sense, if they think the defensive work Blacks' done in AAA is sustainable.

The more I think about Donaldson the less likely I feel that could happen. Dorrian has pop, but K's vs AAA pitching are a little too high for my taste. Personally I'd prefer Devanney over him, esp on the defensive side. And IMO there's no way you'll see Tellez, Santana and Hiura on the same roster.

Could these be the revocable waivers prior to Sept. 1? I recall that in those cases, trades still went through, the players just had to clear the waivers first.

No. Those do not exist anymore.

Apparently the agent told Moore to get picked up by the Guardians.

Grichuk seems like a Brewers-type move. Solid OF defender at all 3 positions. Decent power. Destroys lefties, which is one of this team's biggest weaknesses.

He does, but the small handful of guys we may be interested in probably get plucked before we can claim.

This must make for a hectic day or two for front offices, with possible 9-1 callups factoring in as well.
