Brian Anderson survives another day.... so perplexing

Anderson can play the OF? Only reason I can think of. Unless they're planning on adding Tyler Black sometime soon.

I almost expect him straight into the lineup, Counsell usually brings them in only when he's gonna use them. Though that could be a pinch hit role

LHP tonight. He'll be in the lineup.

I remember in 1987 when Cecil Cooper remained on the active roster but never played. Didn't think that could happen ever again but here we are, going on three weeks with no playing time for Anderson and now another guy blocking him at 3B.

The MKE Tailgate Podcast had an interesting theory on this week's episode that it's due to a rift between Counsell and Arnold and that Arnold wants Anderson on the roster but Counsell doesn't and is refusing to play him.  Seems as plausible as any other potential explanation at this point.

Mejía move also means they will add a pitcher to the play-off roster. Vieira?

26-man playoff roster. We’re already at 28. Figure we add a pinch runner (Mitchell or Greg Allen), Houser and a more capable left-handed reliever (Lauer), which puts us at 31.

Would need to DFA/option/assign 5 guys before first round (assuming we make it), e.g. Anderson, Chafin, Vieira, Rea, plus whoever joins to replace a sadly injured player between now and then.

No Yelich today. I have a feeling he's gunna do a short IL stint.

I'm a little surprised that Anderson is going down the same Brewerfanatic-respect rabbit hole as the Jesse Winkers and Luke Voits of the world. Anderson is an awesome guy to have available with his excellent IF/OF defense.

I swear something must've happened the week I was out of touch with the internet/baseball this summer.

I think most of his "struggles," are really just the result of losing his job to Monasterio.

I think tomorrow will be more indicative with Yelich as we’re going up against a LHP. We then face another LHP on Wednesday if they wanted to play it really safe. So, if Yelich isn’t in the lineup by Thursday, the I would say it’s time to IL him.

It's weird given CC was the king of the 37 man September roster.  Now there's only two extra spots available and it's like they just self-imposed a one man reduction to the roster.

I've sensed other examples where the Brewers seem to keep reflecting and evolving. Just when we think we've pegged the front office as stubbornly choosing a prescribed strategy, whatever the results, they do things that we don't expect (e.g. drafting a bunch of corner-power prospects). Maybe they are more flexible in their thinking and planning than fans give them credit for?
