miley is such a gamer.    Williams was definitely rusty.    He needs a couple more outing this week.   Who gives a crap if it’s a save situation

Yeah, they'll have Devin and Joel pitch once during the Cubs series but not more than once.  Likely Saturday.

Look at the preseason prediction thread I just bumped. I predicted 90 wins and the Wild Card. Wrong on the wild card because I fell for the Cardinals-mania. But I felt confident about the pitching staff and defense.

I love that the Cardinals lost this game after intentionally walking Contreras to get to Tyrone. You'd think a team mathematically eliminated from the playoffs and nothing to play for would let their young LHP face a tough RHH in a tough spot especially if the plan for said LHP is still to be a SP in the MLB. Can't just avoid good RHH as a SP.

Also the BS bunting in a game that had no bearing on anything. Very small.

Expect pre-scheduled BP usage & scripted pitch counts over the next 4 days, regardless of situation. Even if Chafin was pitching well, there's no way you'd normally bring him in with a one-run lead & three RHH due up. Williams was probably pitching the ninth regardless of the situation, too.

I have a feeling Small follows Burnes tomorrow.

Would have been fun if all the players could have come out on the field to celebrate the division today as if today was the clincher, it's no fun to do it after a loss.
