have they ever called pass interference on a hail Mary?

I'm sure it's happened, but would need to be basically someone with their back to the ball tackling someone before the ball got there.

Remember what Yoda said:

I can't believe they are still talking about PI on the hail mary

Yep, borderline at best.... they would never call that on a HM.

They did an entire postgame feature on the refereeing on that last sequence and said nothing about the personal foul or the out of bounds call.  Both of those were potentially as significant as the no calls the other way.

Screw the talk about the DPI. How about the terrible 15 yards they gave to KC on the hit on Mahomes when he was clearly in bounds. Love was outstanding. He's proving he's a legit NLF QB that can be great at times and better yet, still has room to grow.

Watson's injury is the one cloud over this win, but damn, what a turnaround.

And with the cupcake schedule they have left...Chicago, Carolina, TB, Minny and the Giants...10 wins is not only reasonable, but it should be expected at this point.

Jones, Jaire coming back. This front is looking great. From looking hapless and not scoring 20 to putting up more points on KC than anyone and Love coming back and facing the same team and scheme that made him look bad his first start, going for 3 TDs, no turnovers, making the right call over and over. Even the sack he took at the end. Didn't throw the ball away, throw it up. Tried to dip under, when he couldn't, lurched forward for what he could.

Man, what a turnaround. We're not a "contender," but we've got a shot at having a REALLY good QB.

Hopefully Watson is ready for the playoffs. Be nice to get Jones back next week to offset that a bit

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Packer may be favored in every game the rest of the season.

Not sure, but it definitely wouldn't have been justified tonight. I understand on the play 2 plays prior, but the officiating tonight was straight trash. The late hit on Mahomes was an absolute joke.

I feel like this happened late last season too and we expected him out for weeks but he was back the next week. I am still assuming out a week or 2 but I doubt they will be as careful getting him to 100% as they were earlier.

You know what the icing on the cake was? Not one shot of Taylor Swift all game.

There was one.  The booth commented on how this was the second Sunday night game she's been to.

There were 3 egregiously bad calls on that last drive. Had the first two been called correctly, (clean hit on Mahomes, and the side judge ruling MVS out of bounds and not rolling the clock), there would have never even been the opportunity for the non PI call.

Yep - guessing that officiating crew won't be doing the Super Bowl this year - it was keystone cops on that last possession.

Also, is there a rules expert in here that can help me understand why there wasn't a 10 second runoff after the Pacheco personal foul?

It was a running clock, Rice was down in the field of play after review. The Chiefs had no timeouts left. I've yet to hear any explanation on this. They ADDED 10 seconds back on for the run back, which I get, but unless I'm completely misunderstanding how this is usually applied, after adding the 10, there still should have been a 10 second runoff that brought it back down to 40, followed by winding the clock before the snap.

Good question. I saw some debate on Twitter last night about it. Never saw an answer. Between that and the clock stopping on the MVS catch it, that non PI play probably never happens.

I believe I have seen it in recent weeks, especially since the NFL is very pro 'let it play out':

Since they had to stop the clock for the review of the play, the Chiefs are not penalized with a 10 second run-off due to the penalty. The penalty only causes a run-off if the penalty is the only reason for the stoppage of play.

Their own rules say otherwise:

Announcers talked a lot about how Kelce was pushed with two hands in the back.  Looked more like Kelce slowed down and Owens bumped into him...and not very hard.  Good no call.

You must have been getting a beer when they had that shot.
