2065 years ago Julius Caesar was assassinated. Condolences to his surviving family and friends. I also question how appropriate it was for King Features Syndicate to hire Brutus in their Popeye The Sailor Man tv series. I get giving someone a second chance but isn't making a fortune as a TV villain a mere 1105 years later rubbing salt in the wound?

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I seem to recall his name was "Bluto" originally.  I guess it is Paramount's fault.  Shivvers me timbers...

That's because Brutus changed him name to get his foot in the door. After he was established he made up the cock and bull story to deflect blame. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

Goulash without meat is not goulash.

...and noodles in chili is just freaking weird.

Moved to the Fox Valley in 1992, first time I ever saw noodles in chili and to this day, it is just not right.

Put noodles in it and it ceases to be chili. At that point it's just an over-sauced pasta dish.

I add macaroni noodles and nacho cheese sauce.  It is the best way to eat chili!

I'm selling my hot dog cart. Lost money on it last year due to not being out there enough, but doing so more often isn't manageable. It was genuinely fun to be out there, though, so maybe I'll do it again if I stay in the US for retirement.

Not selling it at some huge discount so the sale of it has been slow.

On Friday, my wife and I are driving from our home in NW Arizona to go see the eclipse in person.  We’ve had this planned for several years and I’m super excited.  The weather is kind of putting a damper on our plans.

We are either going to Temple, TX or Clarksville, AR.  I have a college friend in Rogers, AR that we originally made plans for but a couple of months ago we built in Texas as our contingency, especially with the odds of clearer skies being historically higher in Texas this time of year.

Anyway, my questions are this:  anybody have any insider information about either area?  If we go to Arkansas, how’s the drive from Rogers to Clarksville?   What about the Temple area?

We have reservations all over the place (thank you, free cancellations!) but we figure by the time we get to eastern New Mexico and go to sleep on Friday  night, we’ll have to make a decision of whether to keep heading east or start making our way southward.  We have a reservation at a winery in Temple to see the eclipse but no such luck of anything in Clarksville so the wife is leaning toward Texas for the wine.  If we go to Clarksville, we plan on driving from Rogers to Clarksville at dawn to hopefully get into town by 10:00 am at the latest.

Now, if the weather/clouds interfere, I guess we can go to the eclipse through Utah in 2045 but I’m gonna be 24 years older then so who knows what my health will be like.  I suppose we could go overseas to see one…

My wife already said she’s not looking forward to the road trip back home with a (likely) grumpy me if  the clouds and rain spoil all these years of planning.  Haha!

Sorry my post is all over the map.

Well, so are your plans!  😉

Won't you be 21 years older in 2045?  Or did I misread you?

Haha, yep!  Oh the perils of typing up a post late at night on your phone when one can barely read without their glasses on.  21 it is!!

The next U.S. eclipse will be on 23 August 2044, so you'll only have to wait twenty years.

I traveled to see the one in 2017, so if it's cloudy Monday, at least I've experienced it once.

Former student today, said to me, 'We have infinite numbers, right?' 'Yep.' 'So, if we have an infinite amount of numbers, how do we go from 0 to 1?' Me - puzzled look.

Rounding

Funny, because that is what I ended up telling him.  I told him the parts would be so miniscule that it would have to round to 1.  I did also tell him it was a pretty deep thought for a 4th grader. Ha.
