When we know that we actually have an OF surplus and not a collection of AAAA players and 4th OFs

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

To many variable right now. We have to see if Sal I going to be an IF, if so maybe we keep both. Chourio, Weimer, Mitchell is a good long term OF. Yelich can DH or be traded if the young guys hit.

I just think all being good cf options means we should be actively listening to offers.

I'd rather keep all 4 and watch one lose their value than trade one and that guy take off in another organization.

Plus, the guy I'd prefer to trade...I don't think a lot of people are going to want him as he's injured regularly.

I don't think you're getting a whole lot for any of the three non-Chourio OFers. So keep them, let them figure it out and in 2-3 years if you have 3 really good OFers and you want to trade one when Yophery or Lara or whoever else is ready to step in, then do so at that point.

Right now none of them would bring as much in a trade as what you can reasonably expect from them production-wise if you kept them. Minus Chourio of course.

Maybe Frelick, but not Wiemer and Mitchell at this point.  I'm guessing Frelick could bring in a pretty decent pitching prospect, but we can't afford to move him now anyway.

Right, first thought I had when I saw the mitchell injury was see that's why all the talk on OF surplus was overdone.  First none have proven they're good yet and as shown here and last year (and like every year before) injuries happen so having an extra guy is a good thing.  Especially now with the DH.    With how much help Weimer needs and should be in AAA they could've even kept Taylor and it would've been fine unless they had incredibly lucky health and development which would be a good problem to have.

You're right I think Frelick could attract an arm with some talent. But at this stage of the game that arm might very well not be worth what he'd provide if we kept him. I'm a big fan of the kid.

With Mitchell getting hurt so much I am think maybe a mid-season Mitchell trade would make sense. Give him 30 or so games back after his injury to restore his value and then trade him to a team who is out of contention. Maybe like a Mitchell for Shane Bieber (and lesser prospect) would work if we are playing well.
