The Brewers have to be hard to predict or project because they are relying so heavily on players that don’t have much of a major league track record.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I think you and I are on the same page about playoff percentages as I’ve seen too many 90% or better teams finish at 82-80 to take them as serious as some people do.    But looking at the NL environment and where we stand I have to think we have to be pretty big favorites to make the playoffs even if it’s June

which means we will get swept this weekend since I brought it up

I'm not sure anyone is "worth" the going rate for a free agent ace, but if a player IS worth the contract, I believe Corbin Burnes is. Dude's a dude. Stud's a stud. He walks to the bump like he owns the arena; he's a true gladiator. He's been pretty healthy, and has posted during his FA year.

I'm glad he's so good that the Brewers can't afford him. I'll root for him, so long as he's in the AL, and he doesn't play for the Astros or Yankees.

Back to tonight’s game.

The obsession with alternating lefties and righties is puzzling to me.

I’d much rather see Ortiz higher in the order than Frelick.

They obviously HATE it when they face another lineup that alternates L-R, thus they do it themselves.  It's just too easy to plan out your bullpen guys when the other team stacks guys too much on one side.  Especially with the 3 batter rule.

You can avoid stacking without literally going LRLRLRLRL.

Putting a guy with an OPS of .650 fifth is bad enough to start with, but to me it’s absurd when you have someone with an OPS of .850 hitting eighth.
