Be nice to see Freddy head into the break on a positive note.

Rutledge will stay in a Rut and after this game jump off the Ledge!

Fred will be Fred ... after this game he will sleep well in his bed!

Anything short of a sweep this weekend is going to mean a disappointing homestand capping off a mediocre at best two weeks.

I’m sure there’ll still be plenty of disappointment even if they sweep.

And I’m sure others will be able to comb through the massive arsenal of advanced statistics to come up with ones that show that there is nothing to be disappointed  about, even if the Brewers get swept this weekend.

This isn't the optimism thread so I'm posting how I feel:

Peralta start so it'll be 3-4 runs by the 3rd inning.

Nationals calling up Jackson Rutledge to start against Brewers Friday.

There's nothing particularly advanced about it. The Brewers were on pace to win 96 games at the split, no one believes they are a 96 win true talent team.

The longest losing stretch they had in the first half was going 11-12 from 0414 through 0508, I fully expect them to play a longer stretch of baseball worse than one game under .500 at some point in the second half because regression is inevitable.

And boy oh boy will that ever set off Pavlovs' dog.😄

He actually should be thanking us for sticking with him through a subpar 2023. But yeah, I didn't expect this kind of bounceback from him.

Brewers might want to win this game

Pat Murphy just announced the team has no fight and will not try winning tonight.

Are you this miserable with everything in life or just the Brewers?

I’m not miserable at all.

I guess some people can’t distinguish between being disappointed when something doesn’t go as well as hoped or expected and being miserable.

There are also some that like to get critical and judgmental when someone doesn’t look at things exactly the way that they do.

I Don't think he's miserable at all, as he said above. He has a schtick, and he's actually very good at it. Not a schtick in the sense that he's putting everyone on; by now it's obvious he's simply being himself, which is great.

We're all different. Some of us are wired in such a way that positivity seems to ignite a contradictory response & observations always seem to trend toward the dark side, while negativity is taken in stride much more readily, and ignites nothing. It gets predictable & tedious & it's certainly not for me. But on a sports message board it certainly has its' place.

Just part of the crazyquilt.
