So if Levonas doesn’t sign, what pick will the Brewers get for him next year?

Same pick #.

Not same pick number. It's 1 pick lower. 67 this year so 68 next year

My bad, thank you!

Thanks. So, theoretically the Crew would have a comp pick from Willy, Competitive Balance A, and this pick on top of their first 3 round picks?

Yeah they will have 5 picks in the first 2 rounds if they qualify Willy and he heads elsewhere.

The #68 pick needs to be signed, so we can rest assured that will be used on an overslot player.

But with a high compensation associated with that pick, and multiple high selections, like this year, the team will have a larger pool for signings again next year, so they can try to work the magic of getting as many higher ranked players, rather than all out for 1-2 top picks.

Or maybe they pivot and next year go with 5 high end players and give them their slot or above slot deals.

As posted over at BCB - Levonas is not signing:

https://www.baseballprospectjournal.com/chris-levonas-declines-brewers-offer-opts-for-college/

So that leaves Nunnalee, Malamazian, Wech and Brummel as unknowns

I hope we can get two of those (Nunnalee and Brummel are my favorites, but I have historically had a very bad track history with the draft picks I get excited about, Dane Artman, Brent Brewer, Jake Gatewood among a few that I was so excited to see they signed... ooof)

How much money will the lose if the can't sign anyone else?

I think it’s just Levonas’s slot we’re losing. We signed everyone else in the top 10.

Correct and has been said before, Levonas not signing would be a net gain on money for the rest of the pool as he would have been well over slot.

I’m guessing this is legit. Not sure:

If those numbers are true then that leaves  $1,600,580 left in bonus pool money

Wow I thought he was already on campus and one of those in the definitely going to college category.

Surprise. Still would love to see 2 more signings.

We should see minimum 2 more signings come thru shortly

With the rumored Renz and Smith signings, it begins difficult to think about how they could spin Nunnallee. Hopefully they get one of Wech/Brummel and Malamazian and if they aren't signing Nunnallee.

I had a look at malamazians swing earlier, so so smooth

But yeah adding even Wech to that if they don't get nunnallee would be okay, but still there's a feeling this draft wasn't quite the coup without him or Levonas

Has that been reported that he is not signing? He is another class and a half above these other guys just throw him the bag and call it a draft.

Got to be another 2 signings with that much of the pool left. Maybe Wech takes a hometown discount.
