Burke being teamed with Luke Adams, Pratt, and Arienamo infield in A+ should be fun boxscore watching.

Same with Dinges and Payne joining the Yophery, Adamczewski, Bitonti, and Baez 18/19 year old top of the order.

That'll be fun, all the young arms are just as exciting for me. Knoth, Letson after Misiorowski, Gasser and Henderson who are all ready or should be in the next year.

It just feels like 3 levels of prospects that are coming in waves. The College or more advanced guys, the guys in the lower level of the minors and then some of these really young, LA signings who are always a long way away, but the prep arms as well. Payne is in that group. The youngest A/A+ teams.

And then hearing Johnson, who was just on the broadcast talking about how they're going to be "stacked" with regard to next year, draft picks and their pool money.

This draft could have gone better, but the Brewers recent team building process/ideology really couldn't be going much better.

I might be alone on an island with this but I loved this draft-class.

The Levonas pick next year with a stronger draft-class and what should be a team record amount of draft capital sets the team up for another potential franchise-altering draft-class.

I loved the Burke addition. The system needs power bats and we just added one that can also hit and play a good 1B. The Payne pick allowed us to add 2 high-ceiling starters, and gives us a nice upside play on one of the younger players in the draft.

Adding 24 pitchers in the last 2 classes balances out the system and gives the team the ability to add high-ceiling, impactful talent in next year’s draft.

The system is poised to become a future monster with all this incredible teenage talent stabled and developing.

I haven't been a fan of this draft so far. I am not scouting players so I look at things a bit differently. Some things I look at are

1. Did it look like their strategy worked and the draft board fell nicely for them

2. Did they use all their bonus pool effectively

On the 1st one they were clearly pivoting to pick up some under valued HS guys which may have sort of worked but they didn't land any big prize and Levonas not signing clearly burned them.

On the 2nd one, we'll see but so far it looks like they have too much money and no great options.

They picked up some lotto tickets though so hopefully one of them works out and I don't hate their top 3, just pretty underwhelmed.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

not really. Arnold was on TV yesterday, they knew Levonas would be a tough sign, but they took the risk because they would get the pick back next year if they failed. He mentioned (which I didn't see here yet) that they used all but 200 dollars of their bonus pool. One can argue that giving big bonuses at the end of their draft is not the best strategy, but it seems like they got some wildcards that they like. I don't get too worried about the MLB draft because its how you develop them, not what their skills are when you draft them, unlike the NFL and NBA that are rostered immediately.

Yes they used all but $200 of the bonus pool and none of the 5% overage which was around $580K

And $150,000 doesn't count towards 11-20 picks. We had $735,580 left to use.

I think we just ran out of time, no reason we couldn't get another guy signed with that.

Like everyone else I love what the Brewers are doing with their drafting and International signings.  Looking back, it seems they misfired on passing on both Trey Yesavage and Carson Benge....players that most had ranked higher than Payne.  Payne (3.44M) has exceeded expectations, but Monday quarterbacking places me a firm believer that Id rather have Benge (4M) or Yesavage (4.18M) than Payne, Dubanewicz (650K), Travis Smith (462K), and Tyler Renz (852K)

Tortoise and the haire.

Payne, Renz and Dubanewicz are all crazy young (Payne annd Renz are still 18) and holding their own in A-Ball.

For comparison’s sake, Yesavage was 491 and Benge was unrated in BA’s 2021 Top 500 as high schoolers. We are banking on our “freshmen” turning into those first rounders.
