Happens every year. Brewers use up all the funds they can and seem to be shrewd negotiators. Plus they keep stuff pretty tight to the vest. Should see a ton of signings by Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

When is the deadline to sign?

August 1. If it follows the same timetable as last year, the under slot signings will come out between Monday and Wednesday, the over slot signings from the first 10 rounds will come out Thursday or Friday and the over slot day 3 signings will come out on deadline day.

From Jim Callis: 1st-rder Braylon Payne signs with @Brewers for $3.44 million (slot 17 = $4,534,100). Texas HS OF, one of youngest & fastest players in @MLBDraft, good instincts on bases & in center field, some sneaky power too. @UHCougarBB recruit.

Roughly the same as Morlando, a bit less than Caminiti.

In case anyone's wondering how to track signings, this is updated in real time.

And of course here should be a good place to discuss any and all bonuses as they come through

I'll keep this updated as signings and slot values continue to roll in

With Payne's deal done, you would expect to hear about many more in the coming days.  That domino needed to fall first.  Brewers obviously saw Payne as a top 25 talent, so it will be exciting to see how he develops in the system.

I'd put Meccage and Levonas in the Overslot+ category. I'd imagine both get closer to $2M.

It was more a general guide but yeah they'll get sizeable bonuses thought the rounds 2 & 3 slots have hefty enough slot value to start with

Not seeing any $$ reports yet on Burke.  What do we think is realistic there?  Can we get him underslot between $2-$2.2M?  That would be a $400-$600K savings if we could.  All of that would be very helpful as we try to sign a bunch of the HS guys from Day 2 and 3.

75% would be $2,023,725. I think it'll be around there. Maybe round up a little bit to an even number like Payne did.

Payne got 75.87% of slot.

I just went back to last year's draft and I had forgotten that Knoth actually signed under-slot with that comp round pick.  Slot value was around $2.5M and we were able to sign him for around $2M.  So yes....I'd be very shocked (and disappointed) if Burke isn't somewhere around that same amount this year.

I understand that everything is relative in terms of signing bonuses and finances in professional sports, but could you imagine being so good at baseball as a 17-year-old, that someone would give you over 3 million dollars just to work for them?

For UDFA, I saw that HS 2B Jadyn Fielder (oldest son of Prince) had posted a pic on Instagram Story of a Brewer Arizona Complex Locker with a Fielder #54 jersey hanging in it. Haven’t seen anything official yet but be an interesting signing.
