Tbh I think Love will be fine. If they thought it was worse he would have been out of there immediately but he just kind of sat on the bench with a trainer not really doing anything. Idk. I'm also just a layman but I think he's ok.

Cramps make a lot of sense given all the calf work prior to that.

To try and be positive, to play as sloppy as we did tonight and still only lose by 5 I guess is encouraging. But MLF needs to reconsider not playing his starters in the preseason. It could've made the difference tonight.  And oh that O-line. They gotta step their game up.

Yeah, Walker and the RGs all looked like liabilities, which is a problem, because our best alternative option at LT is Morgan who was playing *checks notes* right guard…

I have seen this team make crème brûlée out of crumbs on the offensive line enough times to not panic yet, but that is the number one thing that has to change between now and next week. If Love dodged a bullet (and I’m cautiously optimistic) he won’t be able to for long if they don’t get it fixed immediately.

I honestly have no hope. Overreaction, yes. But that defense was absolutely no better than last year. It was the same soft crap with guys just running free in a donut hole all night. And just demolished in the run game. So much hype and absolutely nothing that looked good about it. There was nothing good about that game other than Reed.

Not that I think it contributed to Loves injury but the NFL is a joke for playing these games overseas.  The kick off is dumb as hell and so are some of the other rule changes and overall NFL is losing its appeal to me.

Right, I really don't want to overreact to game 1 in a league where starters getting preseason reps has gone the way of the dinosaur. Change of defensive scheme from 3-4 to 4-3, I don't know how big of an adjustment that reasonably is but clearly these guys weren't comfortable running the defense. Would preseason reps have helped? Possibly not but I'd think so. Literally Joe Barry's defense likely performs much better just due to guys knowing their responsibilities. But there were plenty of non-scheme errors too.

I don't know. Love had two people helping him off the field. In slo-mo it looks bleak. I hope I'm wrong.

TV broadcast showed him walking off the field after the game ended without help and he looked like he was walking normally for the most part.

ETA: at least that's my recollection.

Everyone is diagnosing off of like 15 seconds but the way he was chilling on the bench and the trainer wasn't doing anything other than sitting there is what I'm clinging to.

Yes I know we have seen guys walking off with torn ACL’s but he would have been carted if they suspected that.

I'm about ready to move on from LaFleur and his "clean things up."

If Hafley doesn’t pan out, LaFleur may be headed back to the west coast soon enough. I think it is as simple as that.

It was a frustrating game with the penalties, red zone failures, and too porous defense. But I also recognize it as a first game on a field that had a significant impact on both teams.

So, for me it all comes down to Love’s status. If he has to miss any significant time the Packers aren’t making the playoffs. Period.

No medical experience but a lot of time observing sports injuries. The fact that Love was walking after the game gives me no comfort. I’ve seen many players with torn ACL’s walk off the field (Jordy Nelson) or even continue playing (remember Gallardo in 2008?). So, I can’t rule that out, and almost expect it.

Best case is probably a ligament strain that keeps him out a few weeks. If it’s no worse than that the season could be saved. If they have to play 4 games without Love they’ll be lucky to win one.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If the diagnosis is a worst case scenario ACL tear, there is nothing to do but look ahead to 2025. Neither Malik Willis nor any FA/trade QB out there is going to lead the organization anywhere promising this year.

At that point, you might as well pencil in Willis as the starter the rest of the year, take your lumps and hope he can develop into a viable backup, and enjoy the silver lining of a top 10 or even top 5 pick to add to the roster next season.

There's not a very strong consensus among the MDs on X. Some strongly suspect ACL based on the video, others are downplaying that possibility.

I'd love to just believe the ones who are on the optimistic side, but unfortunately we just don't know and all we can really do right now is play the wait and see game.

I think no news is good news as far as the ACL, they usually do a field test for that and with a high profile player like Love something would have been leaked by now.

The complete true evaluation won't be done until there back in the states. The video suspects MCL.

What I'm sure is going on is that they did indeed do field test such as the Lachman test and based on their observations from that test, they don't suspect an ACL tear.

With the disclaimer on that being, the field tests can be wrong and can't definitively rule it out, so we won't know for certain until the MRI is done.

I actually thought Philly taking the FG was the bad percentage call:

Attempt TD:

Succeed: Philly leads by 9, game over

Fail: GB ball at own 1 down 2 with 25 seconds, need 65 yards just to attempt FG for win, not guaranteed

FG:

GB ball back down 5 with 25 seconds, need 70 yards for guaranteed win (if you take touchback)

Exactly, because they played in Brazil and home today. Then a real evaluation.
