Their lease was just extended to 2050

I'm dumb. I guess I missed this. I thought the Brewers were only guaranteed to be at AmFam through 2030.

I suppose there are ways out of leases that have to do with the stadium falling into disrepair --- not an insignificant risk with such a unique roof. I don't think the $500+$150 Million will be enough to cover the costs through 2050.

But yes, kinda silly to talk about moving with such a deal in place.

This doesn't change the fact that the next CBA will need to address revenue disparities if the Brewers want to remain competitive.

The players really don't care.  Those "billionaire" owners are just trying to stick it to the players.  Having teams like the Dodgers, Yankees, and Mets allows the players' salaries to keep creeping up.

I hope this deal is similar income to their previous deal so as to provide financial stability allowing us to spend more on payroll

Based on what has been happening around the league, I'd be shocked if it was anywhere near the amount of their old contract.

How much trust would anyone have that they'd be able to follow through if they did? Cost certainty is even more important when you're dealing with unstable income sources.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I'd take this as somewhat better news than what we had been expecting.  If the Brewers were going to make more money with MLB they would've stayed with them, since the Diamond contract was up anyways and they had no obligation to renew.  This new deal probably signifies that the Brewers feel they can get more money from Diamond than from going through MLB.tv.

Brock likely is right that Diamond/Fanduel/Ballys is paying the Brewers less than last year, however, which is why you've been seeing the belt tightening moves by the team this winter (sadly also seen by some other teams too).  The old economic models are changing and this is only a first step into the new world.

Also the connection with Amazon might mean better revenues in the future. At least the connection with a Prime account will make it easier for subscribers.

So what does this mean for those of us who have Spectrum cable?  Does anything change?

Nothing changes for TV watchers...it's the same channel with a different label (FanDuel).  Streamers can either use a stand alone FanDuel app or watch as an add-on subscription on Amazon Prime.  Streaming prices are yet to be determined.

I also want to know if amazon will have the same location based blackout rules.
