Watching my first Bucks game of the season. So what’s the problem?

Problem was that they played at the Celtics on an a B2B, at Memphis (6th in netRTG), and two super tight games against the scorching Cavs which was more or less four automatic losses in their first seven games and bloodthirsty haters took the opportunity to pounce.

Throw in another at New York on a B2B plus a second Celtics game and six of the Bucks nine losses on the season to this point are perfectly reasonable.

Sure, there were two ugly losses in there against the Bulls and Nets in the 2nd and 3rd games of the season too, but since they subbed AJax into the starting lineup and the schedule has evened out a bit they've been a completely different team by both the numbers and eye test.

They are rounding out to where I hoped they'd be, a top 5 team in the East. I think father time or father suck has caught up to most of the roster, but who knows. Maybe a lucky run late in the year with Middleton.

I literally turned on the game when the Bucks were up 22... and proceeded to look terrible the rest of the game yet barely squeaked out the game for a win.  I swear Dame goes flat every single time I watch him.

Maybe the Bucks just hate me?

They have always spoken highly of you when I’ve talked to them.

Bucks up 22 heading to Q4 against the Pistons.

Took until a minute left in Q3 for Giannis to miss his first shot after ten straight makes to open the game with four nice midrange jumpers in there.

Yup. AND, he passed Derozan tonight and now leads the League in mid-range FG% at over 50%. I don't even know what to make of this trend but the fact it is happening in real time before the age of 30 has me all sorts of fuzzies.

Bucks last ten games have been a pretty huge turnaround from the first ten...

First Ten Games (2 W - 8 L)
110.6 oRTG (19th)
115.7 dRTG (22nd)
-5.1 netRTG (22nd)

Last Ten Games (9 W - 1 L)
117.6 oRTG (6th)
108.7 dRTG (6th)
+8.9 netRTG (5th)

Here are some select player splits over that stretch...

DAME
F10: 34.8 3P% | 6.6 APG
L10: 39.4 3P% | 9.1 APG

GIANNIS
F10: 55.4 FT% | 5.2 APG
L10: 67.3 FT% | 8.2 APG

BROOK
F10: 27.7 3P% | 1.0 SPG | 2.1 BPG
L10: 42.9 3P% | 1.5 SPG | 2.7 BPG

PLAY THE YOUNG GUYS MORE
AJJ (15.6 MPG up to 21.3 MPG)
AJG (15.6 MPG up to 24.3 MPG)

SHOOTERS GONNA SHOOT
TAUREAN (55.9 3P% up to 57.1 3P%)
TRENT JR (23.1 3P% up to 52.1 3P%)
BOBBY (26.7 3P% up to 43.8 3P%)

That's a solid eight man rotation right there with Khris looming somewhere off in the distance.

Only real negatives at this point are that Patty C has looked mostly washed and Delon Wright's minutes have been pretty blah.

Hard to disagree on the final point. Patty Ice definitely appears as tho a move to his real estate office might do all some good. I took it as a real plus he didn't even see garbage minutes last night (maybe I'm reading something into absolutely nothing). Hard to not just be very disappointed with Delon Wright's game at this juncture. This is a guy I wanted in a Bucks jersey for years. We finally get him. And, well, he appears well into the twilight of his career. I continue to believe Bobby is the only real Trade Deadline asset the Buckaroo possess. And, for the right deal, I move him and don't even blink. He continues to be a massive defensive liability and I just don't think his double doubles can overcome where his value is weakest - defensively and moving the ball. Will the Bucks deal him? I have absolutely zero idea. But, for the right wing/guard/big I think they have to seriously seriously consider it. I continue to have faith Chris Livingston is ultimately a solid rotation guy. I don't know when that happens but I just think he does a lot of little things actively and well with an improving mid-range and short game. Anywho, the outlook is much much brighter and that is a very good thing. Man, it was bleak those first 10-12 games. Bleak.

A bad loss to Atlanta last night.  The issues that were plaguing the Bucks before this run came back again.

This team only shows up for tournament games!

bucks played back to back and had to travel after Tuesday's game. Hawks had an off day on Tuesday. Bucks looked tired. I would be more concerned if they have a poor game tomorrow. They play the Celtics on the road so that's a tough game to win, but I want to see effort. Plus Middleton is back tomorrow which will help.

He won't play much though.. what should we expect? 10 min?

But it should be a good indicator of where the Bucks are at the moment.

Real solid win. That court was an eyesore.

A win, but against a minimal opponent.  Kind of squeaked it out at the end.

All of those courts are terrible.

ORL is #3 in the East so far and Paolo Banchero has only played five games. They entered the game with the best defense in the NBA allowing only 103.3 PPG.

Granted they were without Franz Wagner tonight too so it would have been nice to have a little easier win, but the young hungry rookie contract team gave the old max contract guys a run for their money so the “these games matter” intention of the Emirates Cup was fulfilled.

I like the midseason tournament. I thought it was a stupid idea but I've had fun with it. I want them to get a trophy.

Maybe I mis-heard but I thought they had two starters out yesterday?
