Austin has good K numbers, but just too many walks.  He just turned 27 and looks like he will be a minor league free agent at the end of the year.

BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewers have announced that RHP Austin Roberts has been acquired from the Miami Marlins and assigned to Double-A Biloxi. The Shuckers active roster now stands at 27 players.

Roberts, 27, has made 28 relief appearances between Triple-A Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola this season, with 44 strikeouts in 40.2 innings. In 2024, Roberts ranked second in the Southern League with 15 saves and held a 1.93 ERA with a 34% strikeout rate across 38 appearances with Double-A Pensacola. Roberts was originally selected in the eighth round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2019 MLB Draft from Sacramento State.

He was just on a rehab assignment with the T-Rats. He's on the Brewers 40-man.

Biloxi Press Release:

BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewers have announced that LHP Raúl Alcantara has been signed as a Free Agent and assigned to the Shuckers active roster. The active roster now stands at 28 players. Alcantara has been assigned No. 27.

Alcantara joins the Brewers organization after 22 appearances and five starts between Double-A Chesapeake and Triple-A Norfolk in the Baltimore Orioles organization this season. Alcantara spent the previous six seasons as a member of the Seattle Mariners organization, reaching as high as Double-A Arkansas in 2024. This past off-season, Alcantara was teammates with current Shuckers reliever Abdiel Mendoza in the Dominican Winter League with Estrellas Orientales.

As for Fitzpatrick, the Ivory Tower is reading you, @wiguy94:

"I think Fitzpatrick is actually pushing to be added to the 40 rather than added to the AAA roster to protect him from the minor league phase. He's had a really strong year. His velo is better than what I remember it being in the past. 6'7 LHP don't exactly grow on trees. Would love to see him get promoted to AAA to get a better feel for how his pitches move."

BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewers have announced that LHP Brian Fitzpatrick has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville. The Shuckers active roster now stands at 27 players.

After being promoted from High-A on April 12, Fitzpatrick held a 1.82 ERA across 23 appearances and 34.2 innings with the Shuckers. Fitzpatrick ranked among the Southern League relief leaders (min. 30.0ip) in walk rate (4th, 7.5%), ERA (6th, 1.82), strikeout rate (9th, 28.6%) and swinging strike rate (9th, 13.6%).

MacGregor, 27, has made 218 career minor league appearances, including 36 this season with the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders in the Texas Rangers organization. The Tarpon Springs, Florida, native was originally selected in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
