I am pretty convinced that the Lions are awfully good. They had a stinker against us in Week 1 which I put about as much stock in as most Week 1 games when teams are still finding their identity.

Getting Hutch back healthy was by far their biggest offseason addition. He is a Parsons level game changer. Goff can run hot and cold but they have an offense with a lot of weapons.

I think we are pretty good too, but 1 second not ticking off the clock in OT in Dallas is the only thing separating us being the 7 instead of the 1 right now.

So I’d agree it’s probably a 2 horse race, still not sold on the Bears. Although it’s not outside the realm of possibility for us to finish anywhere from 1st to 3rd in the North.

I think we can be better, though. I’m not sure why, but there’s just been some elements missing from what we can be both on offense and defense, IMO, in a way that’s just hard to explain.

Annihilated Tampa in the trenches. That was a better game than we've had since we beat them.

Is Tampa good? Theyve won a lot of one score games.

Fortunately nobody has been that good.

I think the days are long gone for when juggernaut teams just destroy everyone right from Week 1 in the NFL and ride that wave all season long - and a big part of that is how the game is played and 17 weeks of the season.

Now it's about how you are playing in December and health - theres a blob of about 10 teams that could either peak at the right time or wind up 10-7 and get bounced in the 1st playoff round.  I'd say the Packers are in the upper echelon of that blob and have plenty of room for improvement.  They could also fall on their face instead of improve, too.

I dont like anyone's odds beating the Lions at Ford field in the playoffs - but I'd say the same thing about the Packers, Tampa, San Fran, or a focused Philly team at home in January right now, too.

Even though Baltimore held the Bears to a field goal, it's been amazing to see the complete collapse of their defense that has been their identity their entire existence.

I am not sure how the Panthers are 4-3.  Their team screams 2-5 or 1-6.

Their wins have come against bad teams in the jets and dolphins, a mediocre Dallas team, and after today what looks like a bipolar Falcons team.  So not really unreasonable if they are just one of the top bad teams.

But the Bears still suck.

Sean Payton is a douche nozzle of the highest order but he gets his teams to win at a fairly high clip

And yet doesn't have the resume Mike McCarthy has.

Not a very compelling day of football this week. Every game but one had a double digit margin of victory with seven of those games being of at least 18 points.

Carson Wentz out for the season with shoulder surgery.

Their third string guy must be seven different kinds of awful because Wentz was clearly running on fumes last week.

JJ McCarthy gets his second shot and has to go into Detroit where they will have to score a lot. It's pretty close to must win for them and it will be tough. It's sink or swim now for JJ, I think I can see now why they anguished about a Rodgers decision for a few days.

How is McDaniel still an NFL head coach?  Also, how is Tua still an NFL qb?

Beause McDaniel went to College @ Yale University and is the smartest man on paper in the room.  🤣

Crazy to think that the Vikings had Darnold and Jones on their roster last year:

So, they for some reason traded a 4th and 5th rounder to trade up one spot for the 5th QB in draft, let 2 apparently legit starting QB's walk in FA, and said thanks but no thanks to another legit starter and future HOFer. All because they are sure JJ is the guy. I hope it works out for them. I feel bad for their fans.

Jaire is a wash out. Baltimore has gotten less than nothing out of him, and he is likely getting cut. That could be it for him.

I think he's been a healthy scratch for most games this year.
