1 Woodruff

2 Henderson

3 Misioroski

4 Patrick

5 Rodriquez

Pretty impressive set of five? Then you have Yoho in the ninth! Anyone want to put out our batters?

Boeve may start the year on IL likely as he comes back from surgery - I can’t recall of it was his throwing arm, so he could see a lot of 1B when back.

And Quero will likely DH. Alfaro and ?? Will most work at C for Nashville

Monasterio may likely be odd man out for IF (probably behind Dunn, Capra and Durbin) so will play at AAA

We also have Siegler who will likely play SS or 3B

So I see Martinez, Delgado, Siegler, Monasterio in IF with Zamora UT

OF- rotations of Bauers, Hicklen, Collins, Black.  DH - Quero rotating with Bauers/Black. And Alfaro at C, along with ? Rodriguez or Diaz ?.

Not sure of Canha makes the bigs or AAA. And no idea what to make of Spain or Herron.

There’s also the man who put up 47 homers and 152 RBIs over the past 2 seasons: Mr. Wes Clarke.

I think there’s a Canha vs. Bauers MLB roster decision, with the other player likely opting out.

😬 whoops on Clarke.

And ok , some of those guys will opt out to look for other opportunities.

Also nice seeing the MiLB line up cards tonight.

The catching situation is interesting. Quero is still not 100% and Siegler is getting some decent time behind the dish.

My guess is Quero gets a lot of DH time while he recovers and Alfaro, Siegler, Kahle spread the time something like 50/25/25. I don't know if Alfaro has an opt out. If he does then that simplifies things.

I don't think Clarke plays catcher. He's a great option as the emergency guy but not as a primary position. Of 36 games last season he only played 6 at C and they were all in Biloxi.

Finding time for Clarke, Martinez and Bauers will be tough especially if Black plays half his games at 1B. You can move them to the OF but then you also have to deal with Hicklen, Margot, Oliva and Herron (Collins can kind of play anywhere).

Should be fun

None of those guys should have a guaranteed spot in the outfield over a legitimate prospect

Agreed. But they gotta do something they can't ride the bench for the entire year and realising all of them leaves us without depth.

I would assume either Bauers or Margot opt out and there will be an injury or two.

Yes. I believe I am not being clear so I apologise.

Collins, Hicklen, Margot, Oliva, Herron, Warren are all projected to play OF. Clarke and Martinez are projected to play 1B. Black and Bauers can play both. That is 10 guys vying for playing time in 4 positions. Even if Bauers and Margot go and you have an injury or two, there is not enough playing time for everyone that needs it.

Black gets priority obviosuly but after him what is the solution? EMJ and Clarke are both good players who are decent in a pinch at other positions (CF and 1B respectively) but who are primarily first basemen. Collins and Warren can play the infield but there's enough of a logjam there with Monasterio, Zamora, Delgado, Wilken, Siegler and Boeve. Hicklen, Oliva and Herron are AAAA players but guys we can't just throw away to protect for injuries.

Let me be very clear. This is at the bottom of concerns the Brewers have. I just think it will be fun to see how they will figure it out. Especially because I want the Sounds to have a shot at winning the International League this year,

Once Quero is healthy enough to catch, I'm guessing the No. 1 lineup, assuming any of Bauers, Canha or Margot who don't make the 40-man opt out, would be:

C: Quero

1B: Martinez

2B: Seigler

SS: Delgado (he has been getting a fair amount of time there this spring)

3B: Loser of the battle for the last couple infield spots

OF: Black, Collins, Hicklen

DH: Clarke

Unless Zamora makes a big leap from last year, he might just be backing up Delgado. Collins could shift to the infield when Seigler or, we'll say Monasterio, have a day off, opening more time for Herron and Oliva. There are also a number of permutations that could occur based upon the big league roster. If the team keeps Dunn/Durbin/Monasterio over Capra and loses him to another team, that opens a spot. If Canha or Bauers, Capra and Thomas all make the team, someone is getting DFA'd, potentially a hitter who could elect free agency.

How long before Pratt gets moved up to Nashville.  If he’s hitting AA well?  A month or two.  Certainly been impressive in Arizona.

I think it will be longer than that. Chourio was in AA for almost a full season. Quero was in AA for an entire season.

Gross.  Could the mlb clubs needs shorten that.  Brewers had plenty of OF’s

Pratt will only be playing in his age 20 season this year.

Average age for Southern League hitters was 23.8 last year, for the International League it was 26.4.

Nothing wrong with Pratt spending most or all of the year at Biloxi considering his age and only getting 95 PAs at Wisco last year.

Last year there was only one "qualified" batter age 20 or younger in the Southern League, and only five players age 20 or younger cracked 100 PAs.

Even if he starts back at Wisco (average MWL batter age was 22.3 last year) Cooper is still way ahead of schedule.

With Canha and Margot exiting stage left, I assume this opens the door for Tyler Black to suddenly get a good amount of outfield time.

1 - Andruw Monasterio - SS
2 - Caleb Durbin - 2B
3 - Tyler Black - LF
4 - Brewer Hicklen - RF
5 - Ernesto Martinez - 1B
6 - Wes Clarke - DH (Quero to Biloxi)
7 - Raynel Delgado - 3B
8 - Jared Oliva - CF
9 - Jorge Alfaro - C

SPs - Jacob Misiorowski, Logan Henderson, Carlos Rodriguez, Deivi Garcia, Easton McGee
Subs - Jimmy Herron (OF), Anthony Seigler (2B/C), Freddy Zamora (INF), Ramon Rodriguez (C)
Pen - Uribe, Wolfram, Anderson, Yoho, Nittoli, Jay, Zimmermann, Maciejewski, Middendorf, McWilliams
Temporarily Inactive (a few are placed here every year) - McKendry, Liranzo, Kahle
Injured List - Crow (guessing), Boeve (guessing), Pannone, Bukauskas
