In the NFL you’re taking a timeout after 3rd down 10 times out of 10.

In this game it looks like we are just desperately trying to get to halftime down 10-7.

Obviously my predicted score was a joke but I thought there was a good chance it'd be relatively low scoring. Maybe IU scores 28 points here in the 2nd half but as I said before last week UW's defense has been playing better going back to the Ohio State game (score didn't reflect it there).

The long TD drive to start the 3rd was expected and I can’t see UW hanging in this game in the second half. Definitely some signs of improvement the last couple weeks, though.

OK here's where we make our move.

Can't really say it's a great day for the defense when the opposing QB goes 22-24 for 299 yard with 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.  Nice that they had 5 sacks, but for the most part it sure looks like Indiana did pretty much whatever it wanted to do in the passing game.

Illinois with a solid home lead of 24-6 versus Maryland with only 3+ minutes left.

Normally one would look at Illinois, and if they can run the rest of the schedule they would finish 9-3 with a 6-3 record in the Big 10...really giving them something to play for in the Wisconsin game.  But with 5 Big 10 teams already having 6 wins, chances look pretty decent that the best Illinois can do is 6th place, so maybe the Badgers get lucky and Illinois comes in undermotivated.

Penn State finally wins a Big 10 game.  Michigan State likely gets stomped by Iowa next, but they have Maryland at home in the final game, so maybe they can win that one.

Two more decommits for Wisconsin over the last couple days, bringing the total to 3 this month.  Aden Reeder, a linebacker from Cincinnati, decommitted in the first week of November.  This week offensive linemen Maddox Cochrane (Richmond, VA) and Benjamin Novak (Merrillville, IN) have decommitted.  Reeder is now a Michigan commit and Novak is an Indiana commit.

The Badgers did get a running back commit, Qwantavius Wiggins (Fairburn, GA) who flipped from Florida International.

On the surface, losing guys to Michigan and Indiana and picking up guys from Florida International is not real encouraging.

They've been losing guys to Michigan since the beginning of time.  Indiana is a new thing, but it's where he's from and it's clear that Indiana has a lot of NIL to spend.

Several years ago they flipped a 3-star RB from Rutgers.  He ended up doing alright.

Wiggins had offers from Auburn and Florida State.

Latimer is supposed to be visiting again this weekend. It appears we have upped NIL funds to hold on to some in this class. I think there is a chance he sticks with UW. We need more bodies in the RB room

Here is a brief interview with Ted Kellner.  When it comes to donors and supporters of the athletic department, Kellner is high up on the list.

If you are completely uninterested in stupid sports radio talk, you can skip to the 2:30 mark.

I found the 4:24 mark to be very interesting.  "I think Chris' recommendation was the right recommendation."

Says a lot about the class when the #6 ranked kid is committed to Kent State.

I'm OK with passing on a bunch of average 3-stars.  And I think the WRs they have are bettter than the #1 on the list.

I hope UW can beat the Sweating Bielemas.
