Was anyone else watching the Twins' broadcast today?

I could've sworn I heard Cory Provus say that the Brewers haven't been 5 games under .500 since 2016. Did I hear that right?? Is that accurate?

Most games under .500 by season per BREF…

2017 (3)
2018 (1)
2019 (never under .500)
2020 (4)
2021 (2)
2022 (2)
2023 (1)
2024 (never under .500)

Looks like Cory was right. So we’re about eight years overdue for a stretch like this.

So, 4 straight Salvage Sundays in a row. The Brewers are now 3-0 in the games we’ve attended this season.

Nice to salvage a win, but I had to chuckle listening to the postgame on the radio on the way home. They were talking to Frelick about how hitting can be contagious and getting a few RBI hits can turn things around.

Maybe the offense will start producing, but I can’t ignore the fact that today’s 3 run inning was triggered by a minor league pitcher loading the bases with walks. After the 2 RBI singles the Brewers had no hits for the rest of the game.

Maybe the struggling Orioles can provide a remedy.

That's actually kind of crazy. They got to 4 games below .500 a few times in 2020 but always won the next game.

So we playing a bad Baltimore team  can we expect what brewer team show up. The one that was shut out twice or the one that win the final game

7 games against Baltimore and Pittsburgh this week. Baltimore has the worst pitching staff in MLB and Pittsburgh has the 2nd worst offense in MLB. Brewers need to show up and go 5-2 this week.

I wonder if other teams mention that on their postgame shows after beating the Brewers?

Alternatively, you absolutely know those pitching staffs are licking their chops at the thought of facing this spicy Brewers offense. We may need to get out ahead of their possible surging confidence and bring on a fourth hitting coach...

Yeah I've been following. He's still a few weeks away probably right? Like 1 more week in Arizona and then at least a few ABs in Nashville before they even consider bringing him up

My point exactly. Durbin is dangerously close to a .400 OPS so Black's awful defense can be stomachable me thinks. And he also gets regular MLB at bats. Obviously will never be a long term 3B but gives him some time. Alternatively he gets playtime in the OF? He can certainly take ABs from Collins and Bauers in my book

I dunno, I don't think there's an OPS low enough to persuade them to put Black at 3B. If they stick him there during his minor league stint that might signal that their considering it but I'd be very surprised. He isn't in a great spot long term. At 1B they like Blake Burke, Luke Adams is getting comfy vs AA pitching & E Martinez is kinda intriguing. In the OF you have 2 LHH (one on the IL), switch hitter (IL) & a LH OF-DH with a lot of time left on his deal. He could shoehorn his way into playing time with some of the people that are out, but I'm actually surprised he wasn't dealt at the deadline last year or the off-season.

The Chourio catch reminded me of Lo Cain on opening day against the Cards…….obviously it wasn’t the last out of the game like Cain’s but I had a similar reaction.
