As always, in baseball I never like to put too much stock in any one game.

However, with the smelly loss yesterday, and Skenes tomorrow, this feels like a big game.

Cannot get swept at home by the Pirates.

Lefty on the mound too.

On the one hand that's a bad thing, Brewers 91 wRC+ vs LHP is 17th in MLB so far this year.

On the other hand that's a good thing, Brewers 14 W - 9 L record when facing a lefty starter is 3rd best in MLB so far this year.

I don't know why Murphy just doesn't put up four fingers every time Reynolds comes to bat.

Well, it also would help to not leave an 0-2 fastball out over the middle of the plate.

I feel like this is going to be a low-scoring game again, so hopefully the Brewers can get some runs early. And I hope Freddy can hold them off, but it's not a good start to the 2nd.

We can hope it’s low scoring at this point

Freddy with a Houdini act! Nice play by Collins.

Freddy is a veteran.  Pirates lack power....make them hit their way on...they did.  Then lock down and don't let them score.  They didn't.

We'd be real upset (rightfully maybe) if that were the Brewers and they failed to get a run across with bases loaded and no one out. Nice work, Freddy.

How many teams bunt their number 5 hitter?

Teams with the fastest 5 hitter in the league? Shrug.

My point was more that I feel Turang is miscast as a 5 hitter.

Man, has to feel good for Ortiz. He's been putting together much better ABs lately. Might turn out OK afterall.

In no way is Contreras having a good enough season to get green lighted on 3-0. Particularly with the bases empty. C’mon, man.
