We couldn't get Micah parsons so had to settle for Micah Packers?

I'm legit stunned.  Waiting to hear on what we sent out, but still wow.

sounds like two first-round picks plus a "front-line" player.

So miracles do happen.

I take back everything I said about Gute and his lip service about ramping up the urgency. It'll be interesting to see what we gave up for him.

two firsts + Clark for top 3 - 5 rusher in the NFL. That's a deal you make 10/10 times.

I am too.  Our front offense has been pretty awful in the past decade in that it feels like we never actually attempt to get better.

That just changed in a big way.  Biggest signing since Woodson?  Since Reggie?

Maybe not quite Parsons level, but Jacobs and McKinney were pretty impactful signings just last year.

Wow. I was way wrong about all of it. I didn’t (and still don’t) understand Jerry Jones’ angle on this—Parsons seems like the kind of guy you hang on to like grim death. Maybe there was just no way to repair the working relationship, but man, what a player to give up.

Obviously for us, this is Gute taking his Reggie White/Charles Woodson shot. The thing is, though, the stakes are even higher because of the draft capital involved, plus giving both a pass rusher and a QB the bag at the same time is going to make for some really difficult decisions pretty soon. We pretty much have to go to the Super Bowl in the next two years or this could get ugly. It probably would have, anyway, but this cements it.

If nothing else, Gute is matching the urgency he expects of the locker room.

I am not too excited about the Packers but not necessarily because I think they will be bad. They just didn't do a whole lot to excite anyone and they were mostly the same level of team the last two seasons. The big acquisition is Golden. He looks good, but he is what he is, and I am not sure expecting him to be the spark plug that puts us at the next tier is fair.

Most of the time, I feel I can peg what the Packers are during preseason. I have usually been able to predict when they won't make the playoffs, what tier they are in, give or take a few games, and barring when they have serious injuries in-season.

This year, I really do not know what to expect. I could see this team missing the playoffs entirely or legitimately contending winning the NFC. I don't know if their defense gets better in year 2; we have seen DCs fade after early results. I don't know if Jordan Love is serviceable or the star he looked like he could be. I don't know if their younger guys develop enough to get pressure with a base defense - what is LVN? Are the Lions dropping off? The Vikings without a vet QB? Just lots of uncertainty. You can make a case for anything from 7-13 wins and defend the argument rationally.

I hope you’re excited now Old Snap.

The Packers probably looked at Clark as the equivalent of an NBA salary dump. You make this trade 10/10 times if you think you're close to a title. This is exactly the talent they don't have this team.

I'm assuming it's the next 2 firsts.  That's a good deal.  I'm gonna miss Clark, but you can not pass up on a talent like that.  Plus I'm assuming Clark was less of a fit for our defense

McKinney, yes.... but for a bad team.  I'm not sold on Jacobs yet.
If you gave me a choice of Jacobs or Aaron Jones, i'm taking Jones

Hoping this can be the move that gets us a couple playoff wins.

As others have said, we have alot of solid players on the Packers, but lack Elite Talent.  Parsons easily the best player on our team now.

I'm sorry, but how could someone say they're not sold on Jacobs? Did you see the Packers offense last year?

Ego... that's it. He had a deal with Parsons or so he said... and that's all.

He claims he agreed to a 5 year extension for 40.5M per year.

I'm... in awe. Losing Clark hurts but... this is a Reggie type impact addition!

Ian Rapoport reported Thursday afternoon. In exchange for Parsons, the Packers reportedly sent the Cowboys two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

Fair point snap.  Last year was really frustrating as a Packers fan, but unfair to blame that on Jacobs who was very solid.  1300 yards, 15 TDs, definitely an impact.

I'm not sold on Jordan Love...

LaFleur and Love have to work now. There’s no more excuses left. The running game is there, and between Golden, Kraft, and whoever else decides to maybe actually catch a football occasionally, there’s enough juice at the pass catching position for the offense to be elite enough to match the D. I’m still maybe 10% concerned about corner depth, but the pass rush should cover a lot of holes at that level, if necessary.

It is time—put up or shut up.

I don't think it was Clark being a bad fit, I just think... a player who has started his career like LT vs Clark who is on the tail end and has slowed down, you kinda have to make that deal.

Love Kenny, but he wasn't the same player.
